Dick Withnell

Founder and former owner of the Withnell Motor Company, Dick has been twice-named "Philanthropist of the Year" by the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley. Dick is a proponent of the community working together with ODHS to create opportunities for success for our children. Recipient of multiple awards, Dick is a member of the United Way of America's national Alexis de Tocqueville Society "Million Dollar Round Table." Dick chairs the Oregon Corrections Enterprises Advisory Council, and serves on the Oregon Business Council's Poverty Reduction Task Force. He previously held governor-appointed positions on the Governor's Re-Entry Council, Oregon Education Investment Board, Early Learning Council, and as chair of the Oregon Commission on Children and Families. Dick helped co-found Salem's Relief Nursery, Family Building Blocks, and "No Meth - Not in MY Neighborhood". He acted as convenor for the Marion County Casey Partnership team focused on foster care and family preservation; and served on the Board of Directors for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Marion County.

Duncan Campbell

Duncan's passion for helping society's most vulnerable children grew from his own experience as a youth living in a distressed area of Portland, OR. Those experiences eventually led to his founding of four children's organizations before CP3: Friends of the Children, Children's Institute, The Children's Course, and Youth Resources. Duncan believes that we need to enable and nurture our children. Early on, Duncan worked with juvenile offenders and later served as a member of the Governor's Agenda for Children, as Chairman of the Multnomah County Juvenile Services Commission, and was a founding board member of Children First. In 1997 he was a delegate to the President's Summit for America's Future in Philadelphia. As founder and Chairman of Campbell Global, Duncan has more than 30 years of timberland investment and forest industry experience. He holds a BS degree and a JD degree from the University of Oregon, is an attorney-at-law and a CPA. Duncan devotes his life to serving vulnerable children and families.

Eric Lindauer

Eric is an arbitrator and mediator based in Portland, Oregon, a member of the Oregon State Bar, Multnomah County Bar Association, and American Bar Association. Eric has worked exclusively as an arbitrator and mediator since 1985, first as a partner in the firm of Clark Lindauer and later as a sole practitioner. Listed in Best Lawyers in America - Alternative Dispute Resolution 2007-2021 editions, Eric is a Life Trustee for Willamette University, was selected as Salem's First Citizen and has served in the past on the Distribution Committee of the Salem Foundation; as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) for many years; on the Campaign for Equal Justice; as Chair of the State Board of Agriculture; and is currently actively involved in several non-profit organizations. Eric holds the conviction that when children thrive, communities thrive.

Ken Thrasher

Ken brings to this role his extensive experience in finance and his lifelong support of efforts to break the cycle of poverty for children and families. Ken retired as chairman of the Board of Alternative Legal Solutions Inc. (dba Compli) in December 2018, and was its chairman and CEO from 2002-2009. Ken served 19 years in executive positions with Fred Meyer Inc., including: President & CEO 1999 - 2001; EVP & Chief Admin Officer 1997-1999, SVP & CFO 1987 -1997, and VP & Treasurer 1982 - 1987. Ken also serves on the boards of directors of NW Natural, The Jensen Quality Growth Fund, and College Possible Oregon. He is on the OSU College of Business Dean's Council of Excellence and a Senior Director on the Oregon Business Council's committees for Education and Poverty. Prior to 2020, Ken served as a board director for GSL Solutions Inc, Children's Institute, Friends of the Children, Education Northwest, the Portland State University Foundation, the Cradle to Career Council of All Hands Raised, Albertina Kerr Centers, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, and is past chair of Oregon's Quality Education Commission.

Najia Hyder

Najia Hyder stepped into the role of Executive Director for the Children's Public Private Partnership (CP3) in late 2019. For 18 years (2001 -2019), Najia served at Mercy Corps, an international humanitarian & development organization in a variety of roles including Director of Global Field Programming, and Regional Director for the Caucasus, Central and South Asia (CASA) region. A graduate of the University of Oregon and an Oregonian since 1998, Najia grew up in Pakistan. Najia serves on the Board of the Children's Institute.

Sue Miller - Chairman

Sue brings her extensive background in public administration and early learning to this role. She has been working in early childhood for over 20 years and is passionate about giving all children a chance to meet their potential to lead rewarding lives. Sue Chairs the Oregon Early Learning Council (ELC) and is the co-founder and former Executive Director of Family Building Blocks, the Relief Nursery serving Marion and Polk Counties. She helped found the Marion-Polk Early Learning Hub and chaired its Board of Directors for three years. Sue served on the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) Board and on the Board of Trustees of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI). Sue was elected the first woman mayor of Salem where she served for six years.
