It is estimated that thousands of dollars in Special Education Services can be left out at the IEP meeting table when a parent does not fully understand the purpose and function of their child's Individual Education Program... As a Special Education Paraprofessional I saw that parents were at a great disadvantage at their child's IEP meeting. There is very little meaningful support for a parent to understand the management of their child's Special Education Program. Most times they walk away feeling like they just had to "go along" with what all the experts had to say... I have completed the IEP Master Coach training and am a member of the professional Momentum Network of IEP Master Coach professionals.
