Aseem Goyal

Aseem Goyal joined the Factum Global Advisory Board in 2021. Aseem is an international banking leader with a proven track record of building businesses across Asia and Canada over the past 30 years. Starting in the financial services industry in Canada, he has since lived and worked in Bangkok, Shanghai, Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City over the past 25 years. Aseem's leadership experience has been with top international banks, primarily Standard Chartered and ANZ, managing global clients and products, developing and executing strategy, growing and transforming businesses, mentoring senior teams, and leading post M&A integrations. Aseem has also chaired a 5-member board of senior executives to successfully restructure a country business and convert it from a subsidiary to a branch. His current focus leverages his broad geographical and functional business experience. In addition, Aseem has led consulting assignments to help build the Corporate Advisory business of a UK-based startup in Asia, to launch an ESG fund in Singapore focused on startups in Healthtech, Agritech and Smart Energy, to engage CEOs/senior leaders in the Malaysian insurance industry and advise on M&A/organic build InsurTech opportunities. Aseem currently works with a number of startups across Asia and the Americas as an Investor and Strategic Advisor. A Canadian national, English is his native language, though Aseem is proficient in Hindi and Thai. He earned an MBA from the University of Toronto, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba, has completed Executive and Leadership development programs at INSEAD in France and Singapore, as well as a Digital Business Strategy program from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Aseem is also a certified Global Leadership coach. He resides in Bangkok.

Ben Bowden

Ben Bowden is an Associate Consultant with Factum Global bringing 10+ years of global expansion operations and strategy experience to the firm. Ben's experience has focused on advising global venture and private equity backed companies on expanding globally by applying lean principles to operations, strategy, and go-to-market approaches. Previously, Ben worked for Velocity Global, a global expansion services company, as an early member of the core client services team. He advised hundreds of scale up clients on global expansion operations and employment in 100+ countries. In addition to client advisory, Ben directly contributed to the company's international expansion and its evolution from startup, to hyper growth, and the pre-IPO journey. As a client-facing consultant, Ben held multiple leadership roles, including spending three years launching and overseeing Velocity's APAC operations based in Singapore. In his seven years with the company, he helped it scale to a multi-billion dollar valuation with 1000+ employees and 50+ global offices, with operational capabilities in 185 markets. Ben earned a Bachelors degree from Virginia Tech Univeristy with a focus in Business Management and International Business. After spending time living in Asia and Denver, Colorado, he relocated home to the Washington DC/Northern Virginia region and where he spends time exploring the museums, historical sites, and the food scene.

Daniela Esteva

Daniela has nearly 10 years of digital marketing experience. Most recently, she worked for the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on its digital and brand strategy, and for several global pharmaceutical companies including Alnylam, Grifols, Medtronic, Neurelis and Nutricia. In addition, she has advised and developed brand and digital marketing strategies for numerous startup companies focused on sustainability and technology in Europe. Daniela earned Master of Arts degrees in Interior Design, Online Marketing Design and Web Interface from Trazos and Mr. Marcel visual design school in Madrid, Spain, and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Universidad Nueva Esparta, Venezuela. Daniela enjoys traveling, stand-up comedy, collecting eyeglasses and good coffee. She also is a big movie buff and admires American director Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel - 2018, The Royal Tenenbaums - 2001) for his distinctive use of visuals, colors, and photography. Doug Collier joined the Factum Global Advisory Board in 2021. Doug is a highly accomplished global executive and leader whose most recent experience included 12 years at La-Z-Boy, a $1.7B publicly-held home furnishings retailer and manufacturer, where he held the roles of SVP/Chief Commercial Officer and President International. He was a key member of the executive team that led the company's significant turnaround, strategic repositioning and growth after the 2009 financial crisis, leading to a market cap increase from $66M in early 2009 to over $1.5B by 2019. Currently, Doug is a director and advisor for private companies in consumer products and technology in North America and internationally. In his role as board director, he provides a range of advisory services to management, given his broad executive experience across strategic planning, international, marketing and brand development, IT and digital. Doug is an active early-stage investor in startup companies from Chicago to London, in industries ranging from food and beverage, to industrial and consumer technology. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Advisors for Marxent, a quickly growing digital technology company focused on 3D/AR/VR, and mentors and advises several other startups. Prior to joining La-Z-Boy, Doug served on the executive team of Sleep Number Corporation, where he was EVP/Chief Marketing Officer and led marketing, product management, new product development and e-commerce. Prior to his first three years at La-Z-Boy as Chief Marketing Officer and VP, Marketing and Furniture Galleries Development, Doug was on the executive team of Iomega Corporation, a $1B publicly-held technology company. He held the role of SVP, Product Management and President International. He began his career in the appliance industry, where he served in a variety of product management, strategy and business development roles at GE Canada (Camco) and with Whirlpool in the U.S., Germany and Italy. Doug earned an MBA from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba, where he is a member of the Alumni Council and Faculty of Science Board of Advisors. Evan Eames - President

Evan provides support to the firm's marketing team, particularly in the areas of market research, data analytics, social media, blogging, and strategy development. He is a Junior at Villanova University's School of Business, where he is studying management information systems and business analytics, with a minor in artificial intelligence and machine learning. He is interested in consulting, data, and marketing analytics. Aside from academics, Evan is an avid golfer, having also spent several years as a caddie. He loves fitness and has so far completed two half marathons in Philadelphia during his time at college. At Villanova, Evan serves as president of a mental health-related organization on campus and as director of another organization geared towards raising funds to support those impacted by childhood cancer. A Massachusetts native, Evan is approachable, organized, and curious. He is often found on a golf course, soccer field, or enjoying the outdoors.

Francisco Gómez - CEO, Founder

Francisco Gomez is the founder and CEO of Factum Global. Francisco started Factum Global to take a different approach to globalization for associations and businesses. He provides the vision and is the voice and face of Factum Global but all of this wouldn't be possible without his amazing team. Before launching Factum Global, Francisco served as director of global strategy and market development at the American Chemical Society (ACS), where he led a multi-function department, including international operations, marketing and sales, research and product development, and member services. He was also a member of ACS' Global Steering Committee and was responsible for growing the association's global reach. Prior to joining ACS, Francisco worked as a consultant for G&G Consulting, serving clients focused on strategic planning and organizational effectiveness. He also served as district manager at the Healthcare Services Group, Inc., where he directed a multi-million-dollar operation in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Francisco is a frequent presenter at numerous conferences and events on topics ranging from business strategy and association management to international operations and leadership. In addition, he has taught courses on global cultural sensitivity, international expansion, and leadership. Francisco earned an MBA from the Kogod School of Business at American University and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and management from Marshall University. In addition, he earned an executive education certificate from Harvard University on Leading Global Businesses. Jeffrey Smith - COO

Jeff leads business operations and communications efforts, and is involved with business development and client relations. He takes Francisco's vision and maps them into actionable plans for our team. Jeff has nearly 20 years of experience as a communications professional. He has advised C-suite executives, government officials, and startup entrepreneurs across multiple sectors, including associations and nonprofits, beauty and fashion, finance, technology, and healthcare. Jeff is the founder and president of JVS Advisors, Inc., a New York-based communications firm focused on strategic communications and executive coaching. Previously, Jeff worked as director of communications at Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm in New York. Jeff also was a communications specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. He has been a university visiting lecturer and has served on the boards of nonprofit organizations, including New York Professional Advisors for Community Entrepreneurs (NYPACE) and Joy Through Art, an organization that brings music and entertainment into nursing and retirement homes. Jeff earned an MBA in international business and Master of Arts degree in political science from American University, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and French from Villanova University. He also has studied at the Université Paris-Sorbonne. Lam-Anh Le

Lam-Anh supports business operations, client services, and business development. Lam-Anh brings nearly five years of research, communications, and technical experience to the firm from the Key Executive Leadership Program at American University, where she served most recently as communications and special programs coordinator. Lam-Anh is passionate about sustainable, global development in Southeast Asia. During her tenure at AU, she managed programming and events for several groups including the Vietnamese Student Association, among others. Lam-Anh also led the AU Alternative Breaks Program to Vietnam, where she mentored students and trained them on analyzing impediments to local economic growth. She also consults with Compost Cab, a leading Washington, DC-based community food waste reduction and composting organization, on design, project management, and software needs. Lam-Anh earned a Master of Science in analytics, with a concentration in financial quantitative methods and modeling at AU's Kogod School of Business. Madeleine Jacobs joined the Factum Global Advisory Board in 2021. Madeleine is the President of Strategic Science, an organizational consulting, executive coaching, project design, and communication and writing services firm for scientific institutions and companies, professional societies, and associations. Previously, Madeleine had a nearly 50-year distinguished career as a science journalist and executive working in a wide variety of scientific organizations spanning government and the not-for-profit world. She was Executive Director and CEO of the American Chemical Society, the world's largest scientific society, for more than 11 years. Madeleine also served 10 years as Managing Editor and Editor-in-Chief of Chemical and Engineering News, the weekly newsmagazine of ACS. After retiring from ACS, she was president of the Council of Scientific Society Presidents. Madeleine's career includes stints at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Smithsonian Institution, the world's largest museum complex, where she was chief science writer and director of the Office of Public Affairs. Madeleine is a member of numerous nonprofit boards and committees, including the George Washington University (GWU) Board of Trustees, and has received awards for her work in promoting diversity, gender equality, and careers in science, technology, education, and mathematics, as well as for science writing. She has authored more than 300 editorials and major articles in C&EN, Physics Today, Smithsonian, Smithsonian News Service, and other publications. She is a sought-after speaker and is the recipient of 21 named lectureships at U.S. universities and companies. Madeleine received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and an honorary Doctor of Science from GWU. She has many passions, among them visiting museums, cooking, swimming, strength training, and walking her standard poodle Beau. Madeleine is a native Washingtonian and has lived in Gaithersburg, Maryland, for 49 years.

Dr. Clark is Associate Professor and Chair at the Kogod School of Business, American University in Washington, DC. He published the book Six Paths to Leadership in 2021, and has over 100 scholarly papers in top academic journals and conferences, including Human Resource Management, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Human Factors, and Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Group Dynamics as well as pat international, national, and regional fora. Dr. Clark earned his master's degree in Policy & Leadership from Ohio State University and his doctorate in Business Administration from Arizona State University. Working on both the non-profit and for-profit sides of membership, she brings insight from both industries to clients. Miranda's global experience spans chapter launches and partnerships across 70 countries. In her role with the Entrepreneurs' Organization, she led member delegations to South America, Africa, and the Middle East, building partnerships and offering mentoring to emerging business owners. She doubled the geographic scope of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, creating new opportunities for young entrepreneurs in emerging markets. Her passion for world travel and cultures began in her role with the White House Travel Office, where she was responsible for travel logistics of the White House Press Corps. Currently, Miranda is a consultant to groups building professional business communities, helping shape strategy, capacity, and operations. She is a regular writer and speaker on membership and community best practices. With over 25 years of experience in leadership positions, Paul has spearheaded market development, partnership cultivation, and customer engagement strategies for for-profit and nonprofit organizations and national and international markets. Peter J. O'Neil joined the Factum Global Advisory Board in 2021. Peter is the Chief Executive Officer of ASIS International, the largest global membership organization for security management professionals that crosses industry sectors, embracing every discipline along the security spectrum from operational to cybersecurity. O'Neil, an accomplished association management executive, joined ASIS in January of 2016, bringing a broad scope of strategic leadership experience and business acumen.rs. Prior to joining ASIS, O'Neil served as CEO of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), an international professional society representing occupational and environmental health and safety professionals. In addition to AIHA, O'Neil had oversight of three limited liability companies, a related education oriented Foundation, and a Foundation that establishes guideline values for human chemical exposure limits. . O'Neil earned his Bachelor of Science in International Relations from Syracuse University in the State of New York, and completed additional post-graduate work in public administration, knowledge management, and association management. He is past Chairman of the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE) and the ASAE Foundation, and he has served on numerous committees and boards throughout his twenty-seven years of association leadership. Santiago leads operations in Latin America. Santiago has extensive experience in corporate strategy, human capital management, business transformation, organizational culture, negotiations, and business and employment law which he brings to bear in his position at Factum Global. Santiago is a lawyer with more than 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors. A seasoned public servant and executive, Santiago previously served in leadership positions in the Colombian government at Banco de la República and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Colombia, and in the private sector at Avianca, Colpatria, Banco Santander, Cafesalud and HRC de Colombia - Hamburguesas El Corral. In addition, Santiago has taught law courses at the Catholic University of Colombia and most recently has served as senior advisor and consultant to a variety of companies in Colombia. Santiago holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Catholic University of Colombia and a specialization in Human Resources Management from the University of Los Andes. In addition, he earned an executive education certificate on Strategic Human Resources Management from the University of California at Berkeley. Santiago is fluent in Spanish, enjoys playing golf, and spending time at his farm. He is based in Bogotá, Colombia.

Sumner Levenson

Sumner is a first-year graduate student at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, where he is pursuing a Masters of International Business with concentrations in International Economic Relations and Strategic Management & International Consultancy. He is interested international trade, strategic internationalization, and political economy. Previously, Sumner graduated from James Madison University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs with a minor in economics. As an undergraduate student, Sumner worked for the Study Abroad Department advising students on programs, applications, transfer credits, and outreach events. He also worked as a research assistant/intern for the Institute of World Politics in Washington, D.C., where he assisted Dr. Anne Bradley with her new book, "The Political Economy of Terrorism." Outside of the classroom, Sumner spent a summer in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park leading backcountry camping trips for Middle School students at the Overland Summers Camp. A native of Virginia, Sumner is passionate, focused, and constantly looking for learning opportunities. Previously, Tomas served in several international leadership positions at Pirelli Tires LATAM and CHC Helicopters (Brazil), Trico Marine, BP (Spain, US, Colombia, and Venezuela). In addition, he served as a strategic consultant to public companies Ecopetrol (NYSE: EC), the largest petroleum company in Colombia and YPF (BCBA: YPFD, NYSE: YPF), a global oil and gas exploration and production company (Bolivia). Tomas holds a civil engineering degree from Universidad Metropolitana of Venezuela and an MBA from IESE of Barcelona.
