The Minnesota Legislature established children's mental health and family services collaborative in 1993 as an innovative approach to address the needs of children and youth who face complex problems involving them and their families with multiple service systems. The Goodhue County Child & Family Collaborative is one of 90 collaboratives currently in Minnesota. Collaboratives are beneficial in improving communication and coordination between service providers county-wide. The Goodhue County Family Services Collaborative was originally established in 1999.
