GLOAM ENVY

My name is Elizabeth Bossie and the name Gloam Envy comes from one of my favorite artists' songs: Remembered by The Dear Hunter. But the words alone contain a certain unexplainable aura... The word Gloam has a curious feeling to it before you even realize what it means and by definition that is, dusk or twilight. That time of day is one of the most remarkable, also bringing with it, a feeling. The moody colors of the sun refracting the earth's atmosphere is probably one of our greatest gifts on this planet. I always attempt to capture that enigmatic feeling in my photos... I have been shooting photo ever since I can remember and growing up, photography was all around me. My grandmother always had a camera in her hand and now those memories live on in the form of 4x6s and 35mm negatives. I believe this is why I have a somewhat unique interest in film/analog photography and love shooting portraits. (#filmisnotdead)
