Cole Asay

Cole Asay is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). He received his degree in Anesthesia from FIU in Miami Florida and has been practicing in the state of Iowa for the last 4 years. Prior to being a CRNA Cole practiced as a Registered Nurse at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Wyoming, Swedish Medical Center in Colorado, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Tennessee. Cole enjoys employing Regional Anesthesia Techniques and the challenge that comes with providing anesthesia abroad. Mostly, he enjoys meeting people from different backgrounds and creating new friendships. He has a real love for the Global Surgical Access Foundations mission! Cole lives in Clinton, Iowa and has a large family, does some hobby woodworking, and manages the chaos of life with his wife Amanda.

Dr. Jorge Posadas

  • General Surgeon
Dr. Jorge Posadas has been practicing as a General Surgeon in Winchester, Virginia, since 2009. He completed his Medical School training in Venezuela, where he graduated with honors. In 2001, he moved to the United States, and spent time working at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, before moving for a year to Connecticut. Once there, he completed a Transitional Year Internship at Griffin, a Community Hospital, affiliated with Yale University. In 2004, he moved to Syracuse, New York, where he completed his final training as a General Surgery Resident (2004-2009). Dr. Posadas is particularly interested in minimally invasive techniques, although his practice covers a full range of endoscopic, open, and minimally invasive procedures. He welcomes the opportunity to teach surgery residents, as he finds imparting knowledge through generations very rewarding. Mission work in countries of need completes his holistic approach to the practice of surgery, and he has been able to dedicate more time to it in the last few years. He helped found Global Surgical Access Foundation (GSAF) in 2018, with the hope of expanding mission outreach. Dr. Posadas lives in Winchester with his wife Adriana, and their two daughters.
