Yolande Hylton

Yolande has 10 years of experience as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona Campus teaching foundation courses in Human Resource Development to students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A few courses taught include Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour, Organizational Development and Change, and Team Building. Yolande also has over 14 years of experience in the financial industry. She has over eight years of experience leading Retail and Small Business Performance analytics for the Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited. Primary responsibilities included: Managing the variable compensation process for 6 Caribbean countries (Bahamas, Barbados, Cayman, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and Turks & Caicos Islands); Activity Based Planning; Performance Management; and providing insights to aid in driving optimal performance and achieve sales objectives. Additionally, Yolande has experience in the Global Service Sector where she was trained in the capacity of Agent, Quality Analyst and Team Leader. This experience helped her to hone communication, customer service and relationship building skills. Yolande is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) at the Mona School of Business and Management where she is researching talent management and the role it plays in firms. She earned a Master's degree in Human Resource Development (Distinction) and a Bachelor's degree in Management Studies (First Class Honours) from the University of the West Indies (UWI). In April 2022, Yolande launched her consulting firm ‘Hylton Insights' merging her wealth of knowledge in business and academia to provide practical insights which adds value to people and organizations.
