After graduation, Janet worked with the City of San Francisco's Planning Department as an Emerging Mobility Services and Technology intern and created policies for the City's Transportation Element update. JENNA SPIVEY, a Land Use Professional, joined SSJ Law in 2006. Land Use, Discretionary Entitlements, Zoning, Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) licensing, and Administrative Law are her areas of focus. In addition, Jenna has extensive experience working with local and state government bodies, community organizations, Neighborhood Councils, and local law enforcement agencies across California. Jenna excelled academically throughout her education; she was on the honor roll every year of middle school and high school and was the Nebraska State Champion in forensics. She earned her graduate degree magna cum laude from California State University, Los Angeles. Jenna grew up in Nebraska, where she and her two sisters were highly motivated, earning numerous prestigious academic and athletic awards. Her identical twin is 16 minutes younger, while her elder sister is just 18 months older. The Spivey family took advantage of every opportunity to travel around the United States; by the time Jenna was eighteen, she had visited almost every state, and she now enjoys traveling abroad. So far, she has traveled to 22 countries spanning five continents. Jenna has learned many valuable lessons from the people and cultures she has encountered, and she desires to visit as many new countries as possible because, for her, the world is a classroom without walls. JENNIFER L. ODEN is a partner at SSJ Law whose practice areas include Land Use, Discretionary Entitlements and Zoning, Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) licensing and disciplinary actions, and Administrative Law. Licensed to practice throughout California, Jennifer has extensive experience in representing clients before local and state government bodies and agencies, including administrative hearings and appeals. Before joining SSJ Law, Jennifer clerked for the Honorable Gail A. Randall in the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Office of Administrative Law Judges. She was selected for this position through the prestigious United States Department of Justice Attorney General's Honors Program. While attending Whittier Law School, Jennifer received many honors and awards for moot court and trial advocacy and was a staff editor of the Whittier Law Review. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with minors in Public Administration and Criminal Justice from Missouri State University under a full scholarship as a Division I softball player. She received the 2009 Missouri State Troy Leathers MVP Award and was a member of the 2005 Missouri Valley Conference championship team. Jennifer remains the statistical defensive leader of all time in the history of Missouri State University softball. Jennifer is happily married to her husband, Greg, and they spend their personal time with their new baby girl, Mackenzie.

JESSOP M. STROMAN is an associate at SSJ and licensed to represent clients throughout California. Prior to joining SSJ, Jess litigated complex class action and antitrust cases in the sports, entertainment, education, food products, and consumer goods markets, as well as numerous personal injury matters. Jess graduated from UCLA School of Law in 2018, earning his J.D. with a specialization in Business Law and Policy. At UCLA, Mr. Stroman served as a Production Editor for UCLA's Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs. Prior to law school, Mr. Stroman worked in the mortgage industry as an account manager and a loan officer where he negotiated loan modifications, repayment plans, loan reinstatements, short sales, and deed-in-lieu of foreclosure transactions, as well as originating new purchase and refinance loans. Mr. Stroman earned his B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Loyola University Chicago in 2012, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
