Dr. Anil Lal is a Professor of Economics at Pittsburg State University (PSU). He received his B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from St. Stephen's College, M. A. in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, M.Phil in Development Economics from University of Glasgow, and PhD in Economics from Washington State University. Prior to joining PSU, Dr. Lal worked as an economist to the federal government in India as a part of Indian Civil Service and has also worked as a consultant to The World Bank. Dr. Lal's research interests are in the field of International Economics, Development Economics, and Econometrics. He is actively engaged in research and has published about 18 papers in journals such as Journal of Development Economics, Journal of International Trade and Economic Development, Journal of Economic Integration, Journal of Asian Economics, International Economic Journal, Journal of Macromarketing, Asia Pacific Development Journal, Singapore Economic Review, South African Journal of Economics and Management. He has also published articles in books such as Globalization, Trade and Foreign Direct Investment (John H. Dunning, (ed.)) and Contemporary Issues in Commercial Policy (M. I. Krenin ((ed.)). Dr. Lal teaches Principles of Microeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, International Economics, Econometrics, and Seminar in Applied Economics. Dr. Bienvenido S. Cortes

Dr. Bienvenido S. Cortes is Associate Dean for the Kelce Graduate School of Business, Research and Assessment and University Professor of Economics at Pittsburg State University (PSU). Dr. Cortes received his B.S. in business economics from the University of the Philippines in 1977, M.A. in economics from Wichita State University in 1980, and Ph.D. in economics from Oklahoma State University in 1987. Dr. Cortes joined the PSU economics department in 1986. In 2001-2, he was a Fulbright scholar at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan where he taught regional economics, macroeconomics, and U.S. economic policies. He was also a visiting professor at Japan's Hiroshima University of Economics in 1993-94. He has taught short intensive courses in Paraguay (2008, Universidad Catolica) and in Taiwan (2009, Chung Yuan Christian University). In June 2012, Dr. Cortes served as a faculty consultant for the USAID Iraq Financial Development Project; he gave a five-day faculty workshop on "Current Developments in International Finance" at Al-Mansour University College in Baghdad. He has participated in overseas faculty seminars focusing on economic growth and international business practices in the European Union, Hong Kong, and southern China. Dr. Cortes teaches introductory economics, industrial organization, international economics, and the economics capstone course as well as MBA courses. He regularly presents papers at regional and international economics conferences and has numerous peer-reviewed articles on the Kansas economy, the Japanese and Chinese economies, U.S. economic policy, and economic education. His papers have appeared in scholarly journals such as The Journal of Economics, International Review of Applied Economics, The International Journal of Economic Policy Studies, Journal of Economics and Economic Education Research, and the National Social Science Journal. Dr. Choong Lee

Choong Lee is a University Professor of Management and has been a faculty member at Pittsburg State University since 1989. He teaches courses in Operations Management, Production Planning and Control, Business Statistics, and Quantitative Methods courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He has a B.S. from Seoul National University, Korea, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. Dr. Janice Jewett is a recreation, fitness/wellness and dance instructor. Prior to joining the Health, Human Performance and Recreation Department at PSU, Dr. Jewett spent six years in the parks and recreation profession serving four years as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Pittsburg, KS. Dr. Jewett completed her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration through the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Her research activities have focused on adult learning, the value of campus recreation, freshmen body weight changes, shared recreation facilities, and the health and wellness of college students. Dr. Jewett holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (Accounting Major), a Master of Science Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Recreation Therapy from Pittsburg State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Studies and Leadership from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Prior to joining the Health, Human Performance, and Recreation Department at PSU, Dr. Covert-Miller spent five and a half years living in Omaha, NE. While in Omaha, she worked as a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, and wellness coordinator at various wellness centers and retirement communities specializing in older adults and special populations. Dr. Covert-Miller holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation with an emphasis in Recreation Therapy and Corporate Recreation and Wellness, a Master of Science Degree in Recreation with an emphasis in Recreation Therapy from Northwest Missouri State University and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Gerontology from University of Nebraska Omaha.

Dr. Linden Dalecki

Dr. Dalecki holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Before moving to Texas to enroll in graduate school, he was an advertising copywriter in Washington, D.C. and Hong Kong, and worked as a freelance naming consultant for Interbrand (New York). Dr. Dalecki's teaching and research interests include Advertising Management, Integrated Marketing Communications, International Marketing, Diffusion of Innovations, and Entertainment Marketing. His journal article Hollywood Media Synergy as IMC (2008) was recently published in Northwestern's Journal of Integrated Marketing Communications. Papers currently under review at Cabell's-listed publications include The Diffusion of Hollywood Sequels and Globally Marketing Authentic Places. Dr. Dalecki pursues an interest in creative writing and expanded his award-winning short story The B-Boys of Beaumont into a young-adult hip-hop-themed novel titled Kid B (2006). His short documentary Breakin' Away screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner and was expanded into a feature-length documentary titled Inside the Circle (2008), directed by Marcy Garriot. Dr. Dalecki's current screenwriting projects include Crimeland and Machete, both being co-written with Ethan Maniquis on behalf of Austin-based director-producer Robert Rodriguez. Dr. Dalecki enjoys traveling internationally and once made his way from Turkey to Hong Kong using only trains and buses.

Dr. Lynn M. Murray earned her Ph.D in Marketing from the University of Missouri-Columbia, graduating in August 2007. She received her MBA from Pittsburg State University in 2001, and her BBA in Marketing from Pitt State in 1988. Before returning to Pitt State for her MBA in 2001, Dr. Murray worked in the hospitality industry for firms such as YUM!, Disney, and Brinker International. She also worked in sales as an advertising sales representative, a college admissions counselor, and a human resources recruiter. In her teaching, Dr. Murray emphasizes learning and application through the use of live cases. In these projects, students work with non- and for-profit clients, gathering data from various sources to provide clients with guidance. Projects have included developing proposals for downtown businesses, conducting customer satisfaction surveys, developing marketing plans for new-to-market products and services, and positioning plans for local organizations. Dr. Murray's research interests are focused on the delivery of services. Her research is cross-disciplinary, integrating operations, marketing, and management perspectives in the exploration of how organizational structure affects customers, employees, and profitability in service organizations. In her free time, Dr. Murray enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and traveling.

Michael Davidsson was born in Reykjavik, Iceland and came to the United States in 1985. Davidsson was sponsored by the Fulbright Institute for his studies in the United States in 1985. In 1988, Davidsson received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. In 1991, he received his Master's Degree in Economics and Business from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma. Davidsson worked as Manager of Economic Research for the Metropolitan Tulsa Chamber of Commerce for almost 12 years. In 2002, Davidsson returned to school at Oklahoma State University to earn his PhD in Economics. Davidsson has taught for Oklahoma State University, Oral Roberts University and The University of Tulsa before joining Pittsburg State University.

Dr. Rick Hardy

Dr. Rick Hardy teaches classes in Recreation Administration, Design of Recreation Facilities, Recreation Program and Design, Management Strategies in Recreation, and Commercial Recreation at the undergraduate level and other courses at the graduate level at Pittsburg State University. He attended North Carolina State University where he earned both a Bachelor of Science Degree (1993) and a Master of Science Degree (1995) in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management while working as a research assistant in the Office of Park and Tourism Research. Dr. Hardy then earned a Master of Science Degree (1997) in Advertising from the University of Illinois. After teaching at the college level for several years, Dr. Hardy returned to North Carolina State University and earned his Doctorate in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management (2010). Mary Judene Nance has over 30 years of experience working with both public-sector and private-sector businesses. Shelly Grimes, MSEd., is an Assistant Instructional Professor and Fitness/Aquatics Director in the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation and has served on the undergraduate faculty since 2010. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from PSU in 1993 and 1995 and is currently pursuing her Educational Doctorate Degree at Lindenwood University. Ms. Grimes teaches in the area of group fitness, Lifetime Fitness Concepts, water aerobics, athletic conditioning, First Aid/CPR, Zumba, and physical education activity courses. She has done personal training, athletic rehabilitation, taught aerobic fitness classes at all levels for 20 years, and taught public school Physical Education for 10 years. She is an AAHPERD and KAHPERD member.
