Christa Schillinger

Job Titles:
  • Occupational Therapist
Christa graduated from Brenau University in 2002 with a BS and MS in Occupational Therapy. She has practiced in multiple settings, with the last 6 years in pediatrics, in both outpatient and school settings. Christa has experience with Hippotherapy, the Interactive Metronome, and Suit Therapy. She lives in Temple with her husband, Greg, and their 4 boys. Christa enjoys spending time with family, visiting with friends, and reading in her spare time. And she leads a small group Bible study for young mothers at her church and enjoys volunteering there.

Judy Crook

Job Titles:
  • Equine Professional
Judy has been employed with kids in motion as an equine professional for over 12 years. With a lifelong passion and dedication to natural horsemanship , she has been able to successfully train and show several blue ribbon horses in AQHA and APHA all over the southeast area. Judy enjoys camping and trail riding with her horse Jet and traveling with her husband.

Kathy Swales

Job Titles:
  • Speech Language Pathologist
Kathy received a bachelor of science degree in Early Childhood Education in 1996 and a masters in Early Childhood Education in 2008 from the University of West Georgia. The following year, she got a degree in Specialist of Education in Teaching and Learning from Piedmont College. She then went on to get a masters of education in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of West Georgia in 2017. Kathy has worked as a SLP for Carroll County Schools and Babies Can't Wait before coming to work for Kids In Motion. Kathy lives with her husband and three daughters in Bremen, Georgia. One of her daughters attends University of Georgia, and her twin girls attend Carrollton High School. She enjoys spending time outside and being with her family.

Kerri Estes

Job Titles:
  • Practice Manager
Kerri graduated from Alexander High School. She attended Jacksonville State University on softball scholarship with a degree in Exercise Science and a Wellness minor in Biology. She lives in Wedowee, Alabama with her husband and 4 kids. She's worked at Kids In Motion for over 8 years. Kerri has been billing in the PT field since graduating college in 1999 (20 years), and enjoys spending time with her kids and family, sports, and living at the lake.

Kinsey Smith

Job Titles:
  • Certified OT Assistant
Kinsey completed her Occupational Therapy training in St. Louis, MO in 2013. Since graduating, she has focused her professional work and education on the pediatric community. And she has had the privledge of gaining experience within various pediatric settings including, sensory/outpatient clinics, schools, various childcare centers and home health. Kinsey has had the opportunity to assist young ones with a variety of diagnoses and struggles, and she finds true joy watching them increase their skills and confidence while having fun!

Linda Palmer

Job Titles:
  • Occupational Therapist
Linda graduated from College Misericordia in Dallas, PA in 1994. She has worked in adult rehab at Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute, a nursing home, and currently with pediatrics at Kids In Motion. She has been an OT with us for over 10 years. Linda enjoys traveling with family and friends, but she doesn't mind staying home to garden, quilt, read and cook. "I am still just a kid at heart, so pediatrics is my favorite."

Mindy McDonald

Job Titles:

Mindy graduated from Georgia State University in 2003 with a MSPT degree. She began working in an outpatient orthopedic facility from 2003-2008 until she had her daughter. She did occasional PRN work at this time until she started working at Kids in Motion in 2013. "I have developed a love for working with children with special needs and I love it!!" She has been married since 2004 to her husband, Matt and they have a daughter and son, Emily and Ethan. Mindy enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and scrapbooking. She is active with her church-First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville and active with her kids' school at Brighten Academy.

Natalie Grooms

Job Titles:

Natalie graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1994. She started working in an acute hospital setting from 1994 to 1998. During that time, she also worked in their pediatric outpatient clinic until she transitioned to the school system in 1999. She has intermittently worked in various pediatric settings serving kids, ages 3 to 21, of various disabilities. Natalie has just joined our Kids In Motion team, but still works in the school setting 2 days a week. Natalie has been married for 23 years and has two adventurous sons ages 15 and 11. They enjoy watching movies, hanging out with family, traveling, fishing, and playing with their dog.

Sharon Gaiter - Founder

Sharon graduated from the Occupational Therapy program at Florida International University in Miami, Florida. She wanted to seek out innovative therapy approaches that help kids make progress faster, and decided to open Kids In Motion in 1999 in order to do so. When Sharon was young she was passionate about all sports, animals, and traveling. She moved to Australia to work as an OT and to travel the world where she met her future Aussie husband only 2 days after landing in Sydney. She lived in Australia for 5 years. Once she moved back to America, Peter gave Sharon a horse for a birthday present and so began the eventual training and use of horses in hippotherapy and the opening of Kids In Motion. Sharon loves living life with her 3 sons, who have grown up interacting with the kids attending therapy and helping to care for our hippotherapy horses.​

Susan Justice

Susan Justice is a physical therapist who graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 1995. Susan received her undergraduate degree from Duke University in 1993 with a double major in Biology and Religion. Susan is our lead physical therapists practicing physical therapy at Kids In Motion since 2004. She moved to the Atlanta area from Birmingham where she started her career as a PT at the Children's Hospital of Alabama, working primarily in the areas of pulmonary rehab, neurological rehab, orthopedics, and burns. Susan's professional interests include seating and mobility, spasticity management, and early intervention. In her off time, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, volunteering at chess tournaments, reading, and being outdoors.

Tammy Queen

Tammy received a degree in Business in 2002. Since then she has worked as a either an office manager or an esthetician. She is such a blessing to Kids In Motion keeping the office running smoothly. She loves seeing all the children that come into the clinic and they love her back! She has 4 children, and enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with her kids. "I love working for Kids In Motion because of the interaction I get with the kids-they all bring such joy to my heart."

Trisha Rector - Founder

A graduate of Florida International University and the mother of 3 wonderful kids, Trisha has been an Occupational Therapist for 21 years specializing in pediatric patients with orthopedic and neurological issues. Trisha is an out-of- the box therapist with a huge variety of experience and extensive training from around the world, most notably in Intensive Suit Therapy Methods that originated from the Russian Space program. She is certified as a CME provider, in the Adeli™ and Therasuit™ Methods and is the inventor of the NeuroSuit™. In her quest to make each session as beneficial as possible, she and her sister Sharon began a hippotherapy program in 1998 launching the beginnings of Kids In Motion in Villa Rica. Trisha has dedicated her life and career making Intensive Suit Therapy a recognized treatment approach. She received training by Therasuit originally, then went further to receive Adeli Suit training in Poland and Russia as well as with the Chief of Staff at the National Adeli Training Center in Yaroslavl, Russia in 2005. Trisha has gained years of experience and sought out the ultimate training which would expand her knowledge and give her the tools to change the lives of many. Trisha is the Program Director of the Kids In Motion Intensive NeuroSuit™ Program, trains therapists and caregivers from all over the world and provides OT treatment to our patients. You can easily spot her working the kiddos intensively while wearing bright mix matched socks!

Veronica Wilkinson

Veronica received a degree in physical therapy from Columbia University in New York in 1998. Since then she has worked in various patient populations such as, outpatient neuro and ortho, day program, acute care, inpatient rehab, head injury and pediatrics. As well as being a therapist, she teaches about skincare and makeup with Mary Kay. Veronica lives with her husband and two songs in Acworth. She enjoys traveling, family gatherings, to eat and to salsa dance. "I think the resources available at Kids In Motion are amazing, and I enjoy seeing the kids progress week to week."
