Hello, my name is Mike Every. I was born and raised in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. After high school, I dropped out of college after 1 1/2 years. In October of 1983, I took a job, moved to North Dakota and became a young restaurant manager. I was only supposed to be here for 45 days, but then, I started my family and here I am, still here, in 2023. I worked in several businesses, in sales, business management, some politics and have even owned my own business. At the age of 40, I decided it was time to go back to earn the degree I had started 22 years earlier. Along with that real life experience, I am still working on my goal of lifelong learning. I will be 61 years old this year and will finish in the spring of 2023 with a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. I have an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Lake Region State College, and a Bachelors of Science in Education, from Mayville State University. This will be my 15th year of teaching and I have enjoyed every minute. I am proud of the fact that I have taught my entire educational career, at two different schools, both high poverty, high Native American enrollment schools. I beleive I was sent here for this reason and hope to continue helping these children and famiIies. I have experienced teaching in all grades 4-8, with a departmental experience in Science and Social Studies. I have four adult children, two boys and two girls and six amazing grandchildren, three boys and three girls. The oldest is 8 and the youngest just 6 months. There is nothing more rewarding than spending time with grandchildren. The Lord has been good to me and my family. Education has provided a wonderful lifestyle for us and for my students. I look forward to working in other capacities to remain doing what I have been so blessed to be able to do.
