The Minority Health Alliance (MHA) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1995 by the American Cancer Society (ACS) and the National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer (NBLIC). After attending the Midwestern Regional Conference of the NBLIC in the fall of 1995, the Cleveland NBLIC Coalition and the Special Populations committee of the ACS unanimously decided to join forces to make an impact on the Cleveland community in the area of cancer education, prevention, and early detection. Although cancer focused, other organizations were invited to fulfill the mission of improving the health of the minority community in Cleveland.
