In 2015, the American College of Radiology (ACR), under the direction of Beverly Coleman MD ( chair of the US commission) recognized this as a high priority quality issue. Subsequently the O-RADs committee was formed under the capable leadership of Rochelle Andreotti MD Chair and Phyllis Glanc, Vice-Chair. The committee included members of multiple international societies, was interdisciplinary and collaborative working closely with the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis(IOTA) group amongst others. This work led to the formation of a standardized lexicon (2018) and a risk stratification and management system (2020). This work has generated high levels of interest in the imaging community. The Ontario-Health/Cancer Care Ontario (OH-CCO) has also recognized the institution of a standardized lexicon as a high priority quality issue.
