Currently, we have a ‘Feed a Family' program that aims to provide food and nutrition to families who live in slums. The group targets children (mainly orphans), people living with disabilities and the elderly who lack caregivers. The program is fully fledged and is run on a daily basis. The slums impacted include Huruma, Mathare, Mukuru kwa Njenga and Kwa Reuben... At PesaPata we believe in the spirit of community, where you and I grow by building our own, through focusing resources to fund sustainable initiatives, businesses or meeting various financial needs... Our model utilises the aspect of social capital where we believe in the strength of communities building and sustaining themselves since people funding and borrowing the loans are just like you and me and the platform serves to connect both.
