Fred is the President and CEO of Pharos Luz Advisors. The company he founded to give back in honor of those who helped him along his path. Today, Fred serves as the chairman of three Vistage Peer Advisory Boards consisting of CEOs and Business Leaders from the Greater Los Angeles area. In this capacity, he inspires a "Mastermind" group of CEOs, Key Executives, and Business Owners to become Better Leaders, make Better Decisions, achieve Better Results, and live Better More Balanced Lives. Vistage, the world's leading chief executive organization, is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and enhancing the lives of its members. He was honored by Vistage as the 2013 Rookie Chair of the Year. In addition, Fred currently provides Executive Coaching over three dozen area CEOs and business leaders as well as another half dozen area corporate leadership teams. His passion is to "Inspire each Leader to Achieve THEIR Professional and Personal Greatness." Prior to becoming a chair, Fred was a member of Vistage (formerly TEC) for almost 20 years. Much of his success as a CEO, he feels, was due to his participation with his Executive Peer Advisory Board. His group members significantly grew their businesses, outperformed their competitors, and developed greater business value. For more than 25 years Fred has led several companies as President, CEO and Managing Partner. He was a founder of Glenwood Financial Group, Inc., a real estate investment, and development company. Later he created an internally funded Private Equity group, The Glenwood Group. As a Managing Partner, he oversaw the group's investments in Financial Services, Banking, Technology, Commercial Real Estate, and Education. His entrepreneurial skills and strong financial background have allowed Fred to successfully lead companies from start-up to sale. He has been involved in over $2 billion of transactions during his career. Prior to starting his first company, Fred worked with Bechtel Investments, Inc, the investment arm of The Bechtel Group, and Equitec Financial Group, Inc. For entrepreneurs in developing countries and Brigham Young University where he serves on the President's Leadership Council, the Marriott School of Management's National Advisory micro-financingIn addition, he has served on a number of professional and civic boards. He continues to be involved with Mentors International, an international NGO providing Board and is a founder of the school's Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology.
