Amy Price

Amy began her post-secondary education at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Kinesiology. She then went on to complete her Masters of Physiotherapy at McMaster University. She began her career practicing in an orthopaedic setting, and then transitioned to working with clients with pelvic health concerns. Amy is passionate about working with individuals to address their pelvic health needs, and enjoys providing a comprehensive approach to treatment including tailored exercise programs, education, lifestyle modification, and manual therapy. Amy is committed to empowering her clients and giving them the necessary tools to manage their symptoms and meet their goals, whatever they may be! Amy has taken advanced training in pelvic health and specializes in treating women with concerns such as incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary dysfunction, diastasis recti and various pelvic pain conditions including vaginismus, dyspareunia, vulvodynia and endometriosis. She is experienced in treating women both during and after pregnancy. Additionally, she is trained to help children who suffer from bedwetting, constipation and day-time incontinence. Amy is a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society and the Women's Health Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. In her spare time, Amy enjoys practicing yoga, running, baking, and reading.

Angelique Montano-Bresolin

Angelique Montano-Bresolin received her Honours Bachelor of Arts Kinesiology degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1997. In 2000, she graduated from the University of Toronto Physical Therapy Program. Over the years, she has practiced as a Registered Physiotherapist in Ontario primarily in outpatient pelvic health and orthopaedic settings. She founded Proactive Pelvic Health Centre in 2012 and currently treats all genders and all ages struggling with pelvic health concerns. She has trained extensively with experts in Canada and in the United States through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and the American Physical Therapy Association. Her training in pelvic floor dysfunction (in adults and pediatrics) has included courses to assess and treat urinary incontinence, complex pelvic pain & sexual pain (vulvodynia, vaginismus, endometriosis, IC/PBS), gastro-intestinal disorders, prolapse, pre and postnatal, preparation for labour and delivery, post-surgical, post-menopausal and post-cancer care. She is a Pfilates (pelvic floor pilates) Certified Instructor and a Level 1 Hypopressive Certified Instructor. Angelique also acts as a Teaching Assistant for Pelvic Health Solutions, a company dedicated to educating physiotherapists and other health care practitioners about pelvic health. She advocates for pelvic health education by guest lecturing for the Ryerson University Midwifery Education Program and the University of Toronto Physical Therapy Program. To achieve the best results for the treatment of pelvic problems, Angelique is a firm believer in the importance of treating within a multi-disciplinary team environment This may include working with your family doctor, midwife, urologist, gynaecologist and other health care professionals including the practitioners at Proactive Pelvic Health Centre.

Beth Safarian

Beth obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Western University, followed by her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. Beth developed a special interest in pelvic health during her schooling, and began her training with Pelvic Health Solutions immediately after graduating. She is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and its Women's Health Division. Beth treats all genders for a variety of pelvic health conditions, including: incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis, vaginismus/dyspareunia, urinary frequency/urgency and pelvic pain. She has experience in treating patient populations such as prenatal, postpartum, postmenopausal, post-prostatectomy and persistent pelvic pain. She has taken a variety of specialized courses addressing the female athlete, pregnancy, menopause, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis and pudendal neuralgia. Beth's treatment style focuses on enhancing body awareness and building self-efficacy. She encourages her patients to become actively involved in their rehabilitation, and ultimately achieve their pelvic health goals.

Claudia N. Benavides

Claudia is a Registered Physiotherapist who enjoys educating, motivating and empowering her clients to achieve their goals. Claudia began her career in South America, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Physiotherapy. Since becoming a licensed physiotherapist in Canada, she has continued her training through a variety of post graduate courses, including Soft Tissue Release, Mulligan, McKenzie, APTEI Acupuncture and Dry Needling, Stott Pilates Rehab Matwork. Her most recent accomplishment has been the completion of the Doctorate of Physical Therapy with Evidence in Motion, and her Level 1 certification from the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Claudia enjoys working in the area of Orthopaedics, but is also passionate about pelvic physiotherapy and persistent pain management. She has completed her level 1-3 courses through Pelvic Health Solutions and is rostered with the College of Physiotherapists to perform the controlled act of internal assessment and treatment for pelvic floor disorder. She plans to continue her training in pelvic health physiotherapy and manual therapy, in order to provide high-quality, evidence-informed, and patient-centered care. Claudia's experience as both a Physiotherapist and recreational runner has fuelled her passion for rehabilitation and injury prevention for all. She loves to stay active, and so works hard to ensure her patients can continue to do the same. International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS), and the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Dr. Arlene Dubier

Dr. Arlene is a board licensed naturopathic doctor, birth doula and breastfeeding expert. After completing her Honours Life Sciences degree at McMaster University, she continued her education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. During her years of practice, she has developed a focus in hormonal health, including fertility, preconception care, pregnancy and postpartum. She provides a nurturing, gentle approach to health care using natural therapies including lifestyle, food as medicine, herbal remedies and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Arlene believes that each person should be allowed to learn more about what their body needs, given their individual circumstances and barriers. Her goal is to have you continue on your health journey with minimal intervention. When she is off-hours, she loves to stay active by weight-training and doing yoga, or cooking up something delicious in the kitchen (bonus points for healthy treats)!

Karen is a registered physiotherapist ready to educate, encourage, and empower all of her clients as a pelvic health practitioner. She obtained her Masters of Physical Therapy at Western University and has been practicing in the Greater Toronto Area in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Karen provides care through a holistic lens to work with you in understanding your unique story, pain, and goals. She firmly believes that building a trusting relationship with you is the first step to the success of your recovery. She will then help you navigate through this journey and encourage you to become an active participant. Karen recognizes that symptoms related to pelvic pain and pregnancy can be complex in nature. She will help you explore your previous experiences, psychological wellbeing, tissue health, body mechanics, and lifestyle choices. Her goal is to enable you to take control of your health by helping you comprehend the factors related to your condition. Karen is ready to guide you and cheer for you along this journey!

Laura Hill

Laura obtained her Bachelor Science degree from the University of Guelph in 2019 and has been working in the animal health and veterinary industries since then. She is currently a student at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and hopes to work as a Naturopathic Doctor in the future focusing on women's health, fertility, and pregnancy. When she isn't in the clinic assisting clients, Laura enjoys doing yoga, baking and spending time with her dog Merlot. Laura looks forward to assisting Proactive clients with their pelvic health care.

Lauren Rudko

Laurie Bickerton

Laurie graduated from the University of Toronto in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and began to pursue advanced courses in orthopedic and manual physiotherapy, earning a Fellowship of the Canadian Academy of Physical Therapists (FCAMPT) in 2006. As her career has evolved, pelvic function has become more of a focus and Laurie is pleased to be a part of a pelvic health focused practice. Laurie is dedicated to staying on the leading edge and continues to take courses to study and integrate the musculoskeletal system with the pelvis to treat the whole person. She uses many treatment techniques in her practice including acupuncture, neural mobilization, soft tissue work, joint mobilizations and manipulations, and targeted exercise to achieve optimal results as quickly as possible. She stays active in education as a facilitator in Clinical Reasoning for the final year students in the Master's Physical Therapy program at the University of Toronto. Working within a multi-disciplinary team is a great adjunct to physiotherapy, and Laurie is pleased to collaborate with family physicians, midwives, OB/gyns, pain specialists, naturopathic doctors, and fertility specialists in addition to the team at Proactive Pelvic Health Centre. Laurie continues to love her career and is enthusiastic about helping clients take control of their own health to maintain or resume their favourite activities and sports. She regularly sees men and women, older or just starting their relationships and families for pelvic concerns such as: bladder and bowel incontinence, pelvic and/or sexual pain, prolapse, pre and postnatal, and post-surgical care. She is happy to provide an open and confidential space for questions and discussion to help people understand their conditions and find hope. In her time away from the clinic, Laurie enjoys yoga, meditation, and keeping up with her 3 school-aged children.

Leeanna Maher

Leeanna graduated with honours and high distinction from the University of Toronto in 2004 earning her Bachelor of Science Degree with a specialty focus in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology. Her volunteer work throughout university in an orthopaedic physical therapy setting ignited her love for the profession and she subsequently went on to complete her Masters in Physical Therapy degree from the University of Toronto in 2006. Over the last 9 years, Leeanna has gained extensive experience working with men, women, and children of all ages in a number of orthopaedic settings. She has continued to pursue her goal of lifelong learning through the completion of numerous post graduate courses which have focused on enhancing her manual therapy and clinical reasoning skills for many orthopaedic conditions. Over the years, she enjoyed acting as clinical supervisor for University of Toronto Physical Therapy students. In 2012, upon experiencing, first hand, the numerous physical and emotional challenges that pregnancy and childbirth can present, Leeanna's professional focus shifted toward women's health and rehabilitation of the pelvic floor. She pursued post graduate training in pelvic floor rehabilitation with a focus on pregnancy, incontinence, pelvic pain, and prolapse. Her experience and training in a pelvic health specialty, for both adults and paediatric clients, has only enhanced and strengthened Leeanna's passion for the field. Leeanna is committed to providing her client's with the highest quality of care possible. Her empathetic nature ensures that she takes the time to truly listen to and understand her client's needs and concerns. She understands the importance of education and collaboration in order to empower and motivate her client's along their path to recovery. In Leeanna's spare time, she is often found running after her two very active children at the local playground or putting on family dance parties at home.
