Greetings! My name is Shay and I am a board certified PMHNP. Please allow me to share my journey with you! At age 18, I became pregnant with my first child. I moved into project housing by 19, and I was literally on every state welfare resource that you can imagine for single mothers. I decided that I wanted better for myself & my children's lives, and I decided to apply to nursing school. I was denied entrance initially, but years later, I reapplied. I was accepted the second time around and struggled, probably graduating at the bottom of my class while raising two children in poverty. Shortly afterwards, I was accepted into graduate school, completing it with a 3.77 GPA. I assumed I would be working for an outpatient clinic or at a state facility for many years before opening my own practice but God said differently! I quickly learned that the quickest way to earning high profits with low overhead was to open a telemedicine practice from a restricted state in a full practice..
