Dr. D. Leonard Griffen

Dr. D. Leonard Griffen is the Chairman of Cardiology at Laurel Regional Hospital. Dr. Griffen obtained his undergraduate degree at Iowa State University and his medical degree from University of Iowa College of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship at the National Naval Medical Center. Dr. Griffen also completed additional training in echocardiography Laboratory at Duke University. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases as well as Advanced Echocardiography. Dr. Griffen specializes in transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography. His professional interests include diagnostic cardiology, congestive heart failure, and adult congenital disease.

Dr. Daniel J. Goldberg

Dr. Daniel J. Goldberg is the immediate past Chairman of Cardiology at Shady Grove Medical Center. He has served on the Medical Staff Executive Committee and was on the Board of Montgomery General Hospital. He was the Chief of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology at Montgomery General Hospital as well. Dr. Goldberg attended George Washington University and received his medical degree from the New York Medical College. He was an intern, resident, and chief medical resident at the Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Goldberg completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Louisville. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases. His professional interests include preventive cardiology, non-invasive cardiology, and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Dennis C. Friedman

Dr. Dennis C. Friedman is the Director of the Shady Grove Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Medical Director of Inpatient Cardiac Services at Shady Grove Medical Center, Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Facility of Shady Grove Medical Center and the Director of Research at Shady Grove Medical Center. He is a Founding Member of the Medical Staff at Holy Cross Germantown Hospital. Dr. Friedman is also the managing partner at Cardiac Associates, P.C. Dr. Friedman attended Trinity College in Connecticut and obtained his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He was an intern, resident, and chief medical resident at George Washington University and a cardiology fellow at Georgetown University. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. Professional interests include invasive and interventional cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and preventive cardiac care. Dr. Friedman was awarded the esteemed Physician RISES Award by Shady Grove Medical Center for his superior care of patients.

John F. Trujillo

Dr. John Trujillo received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He went on to do residency in Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Following his residency, he went on to fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. He stayed at Cooper for his Interventional Cardiology fellowship. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Trujillo is an interventional and structural cardiologist specializing in the treatment of complex coronary disease, valvular heart disease, and structural heart disease. He performs state of the art interventions including TAVR, MitraClip, ASD/PFO closure, left atrial appendage closure (Watchman), alcohol septal ablations, and peripheral LVAD (Impella) implantation.

Robert DiBianco

Dr. Robert DiBianco attended Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and the State University of New York School of Medicine at Buffalo, completing his Cardiology Fellowship at Georgetown University. He directed the Cardiology Research Clinic at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Washington DC and has authored 2 nationally distributed patient education booklets. He has contributed importantly to the research of the management of heart failure and is a Board Certified non-interventional cardiologist. He is an Emeritus, Chairman of Medicine at the Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland. Dr. DiBianco is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
