Anne Hofmann

Anne Hofmann was born in Berlin in 1973. Initially, she took violin lessons before switching to the double bass at age 14. Her first teacher Wolfgang Zell inspired her to take up double bass studies with Prof. Barbara Sanderling at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin in 1992. After receiving her diploma, she continued her studies with Prof. Wolfgang Güttler in Karlsruhe. Her main area of interest has always been chamber music. In 1997, she joined Ensemble Resonanz as principal bass player. In addition, she is a frequent guest at the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Ensemble Modern, musikFabrik NRW and the Munich Chamber Orchestra. In 2003, she assumed the position of principal double bass player at the Kammerakademie Potsdam / Ensemble Oriol Berlin. Anne Hofmann lives in Potsdam with her son.

Benedict Ziervogel

Born in Vienna, Benedict Ziervogel took his first double bass lessons at age 16 at the conservatory in Kärnten, Austria. After highschool, he fully enrolled there, studying double bass, composition and conducting. He then pursued studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz (studying double bass with Johannes Auersperg and Violone/Viola da gamba with Lorenz Duftschmid) as well as at the Zurich University of the Arts with Prof. Duncan McTier (double bass). After graduating with distiction, he held positions at the Vienna Volksoper, the Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich, and was principal double bass player in the Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa/Japan and the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn. Benedict Ziervogel is a sought-after chamber musician in and outside of Germany, mainly concentrating on the historically informed performance of the First Viennese School. He also specialises in contemporary music and has composed and premiered several commissioned works.

Christine Bremer

Christine Bremer comes from Hamburg and has worked for different banks and companies as trained bank clerk. In addition, she volunteered as bookkeeper for her childrens' preschool. As trained yoga teacher, yoga is an essential counterpart to her work. Since 2012, she has been in charge of accounting at Ensemble Resonanz.

Christoph Eder

Christoph Eder grew up in Hamburg and spent his childhood and youth listening to and playing music. After highschool, he started studying to become an orchestra conductor but soon shifted to musicology, studying in Hamburg and later at the Humboldt University in Berlin. In Berlin, he was able to gain experience working as intern in the dramaturgy department of the Deutsche Oper and as marketing assistant at the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. He spends much of his free time as a passionate ensemble singer. In September 2020, he joined the Ensemble Resonanz as assistant in communication and sales.

Heike Ressel

Heike Ressel initially studied violin in Münster, Germany, and in Bern, Switzerland. After several years as a member of the Osnabrück Theatre Orchestra, she moved to Bremen to pursue an MA in cultural management. She worked as tour manager for the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen for seven years before taking a job at the Career Center of the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre, where she coached students and was in charge of the development and realisation of external concert series and new concert formats. Since 2016, she has been working for Ensemble Resonanz as concert planner and head of project management.

Julia Kohlmeier

Julia Kohlmeier trained to be an event manager at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Schwerin and proceeded to work as assistant manager at the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW/Mediencluster in Düsseldorf. During that time, she graduated from university in Duisburg/Essen, having majored in cultural studies, business administration and English. Afterwards, she began working in orchestra management at the Osnabrück Symphony Orchestra before becoming Assistant Manager of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Association. In March of 2019, she joined Ensemble Resonanz as commercial manager.

Justin Caulley

Justin Caulley was born in Stuttgart in 1981 and grew up in Kansas. He studied with John Graham at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, with Thomas Riebl at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, and with Thomas Selditz at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. From 2004 to 2006, he took part in the International Musicians Seminar in Prussia Cove, England, where he was invited to play at the Open Chamber Music Sessions. From 2009 to 2012, he held positions as assistant / associate principal violist at the Konzerthausorchester in Berlin. Since 2006, Justin has been a frequent guest at ensembles such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, MusikFabrik Köln and Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop in Berlin. In 2012, he joined Ensemble Resonanz as principal violist while also teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

Laurence Baradat

Laurence Baradat grew up in France and studied art history and linguistics at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Erlangen, Germany. In 2010, she began working for the Wuppertal Theatre, where she started by organising individual projects. From 2011 to 2014, she was the assistant to the theatrical director Christian von Treskow, and in 2015 she became the assistant to the artistic director of the opera department, Berthold Schneider. After the 2018/2019 season, she took a job at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre where she was in charge of public event planning. She joined Ensemble Resonanz as project manager in 2020.

Marten Lange

Marten Lange was born close to Kiel in 1980. He majored in cultural studies, musicology and history at the University of Bremen and during that time assumed different responsibilities working for the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, eventually as their tour manager. For the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn he worked in the orchestra office and as assistant to the management. He is actively engaged in the independent electronic music scene, working at the Zucker Club Bremen, the Kunst- und Kulturverein Spedition in Bremen und on board the Kultur- und Museumsschiff MS Stubnitz and regularly performs as DJ. Since 2014, he has been in charge of the resonanzraum as event manager.

Renske Steen


Riccardo Minasi

Violinist and conductor Riccardo Minasi, born and bred in Rome, is known for his research into historical musical source material, for his energetic conducting style and a unique musical vision. He was co-founder and conductor of the ensemble »Pomo d'Oro« from 2012 to 2015, he has been chief conductor of the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra since 2017 and artistic director of the orchestra »La Scintilla at Zurich Opera House since 2022. Riccardo Minasi has been in close musical collaboration with Ensemble Resonanz since 2014, which has been intensified and solidified with his position as the ensemble's »principal guest conductor« since 2022. Numerous concerts and award-winning CD recordings of works by C.P.E. Bach (featuring the cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras), Haydn, Mozart, Pergolesi and Beethoven bear witness to the unique musical connection between the conductor and the ensemble. Together, they have worked to create a specific sound for 17th and 18th century repertoire, enabling interpretations on modern instruments that are both historically informed and contemporary.

Saskia Ogilvie

Saskia Ogilvie was born in 1966 and took her first cello lessons when she was eight. She began preparatory studies with Prof. Klaus Storck at the Alanus University in Alfter (Bonn) and continued her studies with Prof. Martin Ostertag in Karlsruhe as well as with Iwan Monighetti and Reinhard Latzko in Basel, from where she graduated in 1985. She was a member of the Anton-Webern-Ensemble in Vienna under Claudio Abbado, and from 1992-1994 was principal cellist of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester under Michael Gielen, Sir Neville Marriner, Riccardo Chailly and Claudio Abbado. In 1995, she founded the Ensemble Florestan and joined Ensemble Resonanz as principal cellist in 1997.

Thore Strothmann

During his highschool years, Thore Strotmann and a group of music enthusiasts established the Soundgardenfestival in Friedberg (Hessen). He went on to study business administration in Marburg and was committed to arts centers such as the KFZ in Marburg and the Brotfabrik in Frankfurt. After receiving his business degree, he began working as assistant in the management team of the Thalia Theater in Hamburg in 2012 where he was able to implement different modernisation and redevelopment projects and was also in charge of the acquisition and processing of third-party funds. Since 2019, he has been working for Ensemble Resonanz.

Tim-Erik Winzer

Tim-Erik Winzer was born in 1978 and grew up in Potsdam. At the age of six, he began playing the violin and switched to the viola at 16. He studied at the university of music in Weimar and the Hanns-Eisler School of Music in Berlin, with Prof. Ditte Leser and Prof. Erich Krüger. As a member of the »Abraxas-Quartett«, he studied chamber music with Eberhard Feltz from 2001 to 2005 and worked with Hariolf Schlichtig and Thomas Kakuska among others. Since 2009, he has been principal violist at Ensemble Resonanz. He is also an avid chamber musician on both modern and period intruments and has committed himself to the project Spira Mirabilis.
