SANKOFA TEA

The "Sankofa" is a metaphorical symbol used by the Akan people of Ghana, which is depicted as a bird with its head turned backward taking an egg from its back; it expresses the importance of reaching back to knowledge gained in the past from our ancestors and bringing it to the present so that we can make positive progress. Every morning brings a new opportunity to sit quietly while we sip our tea, taking in its healthful benefits, while we reflect on what came before, and allow that to inform how we will move forward in each day.
