Gilliam Kittrell is an owner and Vice President of Hodge & Kittrell Sotheby's International Realty. He has been committed to the industry and has been an established force in the Triangle real estate market since his start over 30 years ago. During those years of service to both his clients and to the Realtor community, he has achieved a number of significant accomplishments including being selected the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors (RRAR) Realtor of the year in 2006 and his election into the RRAR Hall of Fame in 2012. Other achievements include serving as a President of the RRAR in 1997 and over 10 years serving as the Chairman of the Professional Standards Committee, which oversees professional conduct among the Realtor community. Gilliam graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1978 with a B.A. in Economics. In 1979 he became a resident of Raleigh and began his real estate career. During his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing both fresh and salt water and even builds custom fly rods as a hobby. He is an avid tennis player and enjoys cold January mornings duck hunting with his retriever and friends. Gilliam believes strongly that each and every client deserves the best possible service and he has dedicated his career toward achieving that goal. "What sets us apart is our commitment to fully represent our clients before, during and after their transaction. Our desire to provide exemplary service is engrained in our culture.
A veteran of the Triangle real estate market for over 25 years and one of the owners of Hodge & Kittrell Sotheby's International Realty, Michael is a top producer whose clients benefit from his wealth of experience and trademark high level of personal service. With his broad market knowledge and savvy, Michael thrives on helping buyers and sellers alike. On the buying side, he enjoys helping first-time homebuyers find that perfect first home and seasoned buyers find their "forever house." On the selling side, he is equally adept at helping sellers move up, downsize or relocate. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Michael moved to Raleigh and shortly thereafter began his real estate career. Since living in Raleigh, he has lived in a new apartment, a 1960s condo, a 1950s ranch (which he and his wife renovated and later added on to--twice) and a new house designed and built from the ground up. Through his experience buying, renovating and building houses, Michael has a good eye for design and the hidden potential in older and historic properties that may not be readily apparent to some buyers. With a stable of designers, architects and builders at his disposal, he can help buyers envision what a property can become. However, if it is a new house you have always dreamed of, he is equally familiar with helping buyers navigate the construction process from initial design to the final punch list. And with two children, he is also very familiar with the area's public and private schools. In his spare time, Michael enjoys running, collecting art and antiques, volunteering for local museums (including the North Carolina Museum of History and the North Carolina Museum of Art) as well as Christ Church, and spending time with family and friends. Having experienced just about every conceivable real estate situation, Michael says his ultimate goal is "to give solid advice, make my clients feel like they are my only clients, and make their transactions as seamless as possible."
'I worked with Jack when relocating with my wife to the area. I was interested in looking at properties in Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh and found that Jack had a deep knowledge on the entire area. He spent the time to get to know us and quickly figured out the types of properties that would appeal to us … Jack knows the market and was incredibly helpful through price negotiations as well as home inspection and finding service providers. Most of all Jack was patient with us, responsive to every need and could not have been more pleasant to work with. I have the utmost praise for him professionally and personally.' Tom P.
Jack came to real estate in 1994 following a very successful career in modern dance. His transition to a career in real estate took him from performing around the world with Pilobolus Dance Theatre to becoming one of the top producers at Hodge & Kittrell Sotheby's International Realty.
As a Realtor, Jack is in the unique position of having resided in all three of the Triangle's anchor communities: Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. His knowledge of the Triangle as a whole, wealth of experience, and command of real estate processes combined with professional integrity, strong work ethic, and personal attention to his clients are among the qualities that have allowed countless buyers and sellers to trust that they are making well-informed and fully supported decisions. Listening closely to and responding to his clients' concerns and sensitively guiding them through the necessary and sometimes complex steps of the transaction, Jack never loses sight of the importance of a real estate transaction in the lives of his clients.
A North Carolina native, Jack grew up in the small eastern North Carolina town of Enfield but has called the Triangle home for all but four of the past 37 years. He has given back to his community in many ways over the years and is currently on the Board of Visitors for the UNC-Greensboro College of Visual and Performing Arts as well as the board of Triangle ArtWorks. He is also a mentor and reading buddy at Hope Charter Leadership Academy, a volunteer with the Family Promise/Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network, and a summer tour guide at the American Dance Festival.
Jack is a graduate of Woodberry Forest School, received a BFA from UNC School of the Arts (Dance) and a MFA from UNC-Greensboro (Dance and Choreography). When not working or volunteering, he can often be found running trails at Umstead State Park, paddle-boarding on a local lake, or sneaking away to Wrightsville Beach for a quick surf session. Jack and his wife, Robin Harris, feel extremely fortunate to live in an area that offers the influence of major colleges and universities, great public and private schools, a thriving arts scene, a booming creative class, excellent restaurants, and great design. They also appreciate the convenience of RDU International Airport for visiting their four grown children and one adorable grandchild.
Joe began his real estate career in 1979, and is a second-generation Realtor. Following in the footsteps of his parents, Joe and Nadine Hodge, he is joined today by his daughter, Anna Ball Hodge, counseling buyers and sellers on all types of real estate matters. A lifelong Raleigh resident, Joe knows the Triangle real estate market like the back of his hand. He and his partner, Gilliam Kittrell, have owned Hodge & Kittrell Realtors since 1987, and were chosen to affiliate with Sotheby's International Realty in 2011. A commitment to ethics and client representation are at the core of any real estate transaction involving Hodge & Kittrell Sotheby's International Realty.
After graduating from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Joe worked for one year with Wachovia Mortgage Co. before returning home to Raleigh to enter the real estate business. He has long been involved with the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors, having served as President in 1991, and was named Realtor of the Year in 1996. In 2006, Joe was appointed by the Governor to serve on the North Carolina Real Estate Commission and served until 2009.
Joe is married to his high school sweetheart, Anna Ball, and they have three daughters, Anna Ball, Elizabeth, and Josie. He is very involved at Christ Episcopal Church, having served as Junior Warden of the Vestry, Stewardship Chair, leader of the high school EYC, and as a member of the Finance Committee. He also serves on the Broughton High School Capital Foundation, and has been a supporter of Broughton athletics since 1998. After spending time with his family, Joe's hobbies include offshore sport fishing, boating, golf, and following Tar Heel sports.
