Second generation owner, Cecil M. Thornton, Jr., continues the service and legacy his father "Buddy" started so many years ago. The business has grown from a two day a week business into a full time business that prides itself on outstanding service to the community. In 2006, the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce selected Cecil as Business Person of the Year. Each year, The State honors 20 young business stars under the age of 40 who are making a difference in the community. In 2008, Cecil was chosen by The State newspaper as one of 20 young professionals younger than 40 from the 10-county area of the Midlands. Cecil is currently serving his second term on Calhoun County Council while running a successful business. He and his wife, Caroline, have one son.
