ADAM BURNS

As a Detective, Adam retired from the Sheriff's Office following a distinguished law enforcement career as a narcotics detective, Criminal Investigations in the areas of Fraud, Property Crimes and Persons Crimes. He has an extensive background in undercover/covert operations and surveillance, served as a part-time police instructor at our local police academy and taught new recruits in the areas of crime prevention and investigations. Adam has numerous experiences as serving in the police administration where his responsibilities were to create training programs, attend numerous network associations to discuss crime prevention topics and has been assigned to conduct and complete sensitive internal investigations. Adam has testified regularly in court in a vast number of criminal cases, interacting with attorneys, judges, and jurors and has received numerous letters of commendations from superiors and citizens and has been selected by superiors as Officer of the Quarter. Adam retired in 2014 and was offered a Director of Security Position for a larger retail mall which was associated with a fortune 500 company. During his tenure, he has conducted numerous insurance fraud and premise liability investigations that impacted the retail center. Adam was responsible in making numerous changes to the environment to reduce the legal litigation cost factor in many cases. After a successful four-year tenure, Adam decided to broaden his expertise in the field of Private Investigations and Executive Protection.

BARTON BROWN

Retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent Bart Brown has more than three decades experience in Security, Intelligence and Law Enforcement. He is a proven Leader, Team Builder and Innovator. From 1995 to 2009, Mr. Brown served in the Newark and Memphis FBI Field Offices where he assembled and led multi-agency teams targeting criminal organizations and public corruption. He also commanded one of the FBI's fifty-six field SWAT Teams. In 2007 he received the United States Attorney's Award for Investigative Excellence after leading a long term undercover operation against corrupt public officials. Upon promotion to FBIHQ, Mr. Brown served as a Program Manager for the FBI's Field Intelligence Groups where he was a principal author of FBI policy regarding the then-emerging national network of state-based Intelligence Fusion Centers. From 2009 to 2015, Mr. Brown was assigned to the FBI's Protective Operations Unit and was selected personally by the Attorney General of the United States to serve as Agent in Charge (AIC) of the Attorney General's Protection Detail. In that capacity, Mr. Brown was responsible for a team of 23 highly trained FBI Special Agents and was responsible for leading a comprehensive Security Program addressing all aspects of Physical Security and Executive Protection. He led complex security operations in every major city in the United States and over 30 foreign countries throughout Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. In September 2012, while conducting security operations in the Middle East, Mr. Brown led the evacuation of the Attorney General and other officials amid regional unrest.

CARY DEJEAN

In 2010, Cary was hired as a road patrol police officer with the Miramar Police Department. As a road patrol police officer, Cary provided public safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing motor vehicle and criminal laws by identifying, pursuing and making arrests for perpetrators of criminal acts and promoting good community relations. Cary documented witness statements, testified in court proceedings, and filed cases with the State Attorney's Office. Cary was also a field training officer Field Training Officer for 2 years, providing new recruits with basics of criminal law, policy, and procedures. Additionally, provided instruction in radio communications and city geography, ensuring new officers were tactically sound and proficient in weapon retention and use of temporary restraints. In 2014, Cary transferred to the Sunrise Police Department where he worked and ran a small undercover unit to handle organized retail theft, fraud, burglaries, and human trafficking. Cary worked alongside Department of Homeland Security Southeast Region to combat organized crime at shopping malls. Cary received numerous letters of commendations from superiors and citizens and selected by superiors for Officer of the Month. Cary also has taken multiple continuing education courses to include kinesics interviewing, interviews and interrogations, death investigations, advanced report writing, crisis intervention, speed measurement, CPR and first aide, emergency and disaster management, and white collar / financial crimes.

JOHN SINKS

As a Detective, John retired from the Sheriff's Office following a distinguished law enforcement career as a narcotics detective, advising and assisting undercover officers throughout Florida and the United States. He has an extensive background in undercover/covert operations and surveillance. Served as a Field Training Officer for eight years, providing new recruits with basics of criminal law, policy, and procedures. Additionally, provided instruction in radio communications and city geography, ensuring new officers were tactically sound and proficient in weapon retention and use of temporary restraints. Furthermore, he served as police union representative, involving on-going direct contact with superiors and city and county officials in contract negotiations, and representing fellow officers in official misconduct and/or critical incidents. John has testified regularly in court in narcotics and other cases, interacting with attorneys, judges, and jurors. Received numerous letters of commendations from superiors and citizens and selected by superiors as Officer of the Quarter. John specializes in surveillance and complex child custody cases. One high profile case in particular led to the dismissal of criminal prosecution of a wrongly accused individual and was featured on Inside Edition. Additionally, John is part of a team of highly trained professionals comprised of retired local, state and federal law enforcement officers that provide high level protection for an individual and their family in the West Palm Beach area. This individual is on the Forbes 500 list as one of the wealthiest individuals in the world. Steven Chin

Steven Chin is the owner of Direct-Action Training Inc. a professional training company that provides Hand-to-hand combat, edge, impact, and improvised tool training as well CQB firearm training to military, law enforcement, PMCs, and other security professionals that work in high risk environments. Steven Chin is a highly specialized self-defense practitioner and instructor with over a decade of extensive training and experience in many aspects of defensive tactics. An accomplished fighter in the striking and grappling arts, trained by Raul Lloris (six time world champion, winner of Tokyo grand prize at the Tokyo dome, IKF Midwest regional champion, WKF national champion). Also trained by and alongside champion Larry Bordon who has over 30yrs of experience in Muay Thai with over 150 fights. Competing in many fights in the US and UK Steven Chin has become a very efficient practitioner and instructor in a wide variety of unique skill sets. Steven Chin received extensive weapons training and certifications under some of the highest regarded specialists in the industry including Grandmaster Bram Frank (founder and director of CSSD/SC, Modular Blade Concepts MBC - Gunting- Conceptual Arnis / Combat Arnis) extending his knowledge of edged tools with Col. Grand Tuhon Leo Gaja Jr (present keeper of PTK system - Pikiti Tirsia Kali, inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame, trainer for Philippines Force Recon Unit). Steven Chin has performed armed high risk & low risk Personal Security Detail (PSD) operations in the US and South America for civilian clients in both urban and wilderness settings. He has completed over 20 courses in special operation tactics, survival, and self defense. Steven Chin has instructed & trained with operators from Force Recon marines, Green Berets, Rangers, Devgru, Russian Special forces, Croatian Special Forces, SAS & Israeli Special Forces. Steven Chin has also worked with the subject matter experts that have been called in to train Devgru as well as Spetznaz. Steven Chin currently trains the Defensive tactics instructors for many of the local law enforcement departments & provides Training to their special response teams (SWAT). Steven Chin is proud member of the Broward Sheriff's Office Tactical Training Unit. Steven Chin is also a member of the Broward Sheriff's Office elite SWAT team. In that training position, Steven is responsible for developing and instructing all of the in-service training for his department.
