David C. Culpepper retired from practicing law in 2018. He is one of the founding partners of Thede Culpepper Moore Munro & Silliman LLP. David practiced law in Oregon for 45 years, focusing on tax and business law, with an emphasis on partnerships, and was a drafter of the Oregon statutes creating limited liability companies. His advice and expertise was always highly regarded by his clients, as well as his fellow partners and associates he mentored.

Professional Experience David M. Munro is one of the founding partners of Thede Culpepper Moore Munro & Silliman LLP. He practiced in Oregon from 1967 to 1992, served as an Associate Director of Planned Giving at Stanford University from 1992 to 1995, and resumed his practice in Oregon in 1995. His practice includes estate planning, estate and trust administration, and charitable organizations.

DUSTIN R. KLINGER

Professional Experience Dustin is a partner who joined the firm after 15 years with Miller Nash Graham & Dunn LLP, following his friend and mentor, David Culpepper. His practice focuses on commercial real estate, co-op, and family business transactions. He brings extensive experience in real estate, acquisitions, sales, property management, leasing, secured financing, and entity mergers. He is active in structuring, negotiating, and closing transactions for co-op, family, closely-held companies, and nonprofits. He has specific experience representing retail and multi-family landlords, lenders, real estate developers, colleges and universities, as well as agricultural cooperative businesses. Dustin is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington. Dustin is a founding trustee for Friends of Columbia Gorge Land Trust, a trustee of Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, and a director for the nonprofit Northeast Community Center. He served as annual auction chair for St. Mary's Academy in 2018.

JEFFREY C. THEDE

Professional Experience Jeffrey C. Thede began his legal career with Miller Nash LLP in 1979 and was with the firm until December 2007, when he left Miller Nash to form Thede Culpepper Moore Munro & Silliman LLP with four of his partners. Jeff's practice emphasizes estate and trust planning and administration, charitable planning, and tax-exempt organizations. He is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington. Jeff is a member and past president of the Estate Planning Council of Portland, a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the Chair of the ACTEC Charitable Planning and Exempt Organizations Committee, and a member of the Northwest Planned Giving Roundtable. Jeff has been married to his wife Jan since 1979 and has two children. He enjoys golf, traveling, thinking about learning a foreign language, thinking about learning to play the piano, and the occasional game of cards.

JUSTINE THEDE OCCHIPINTI

Professional Experience Justine is of counsel with Thede Culpepper, having joined the firm in 2013. Her practice includes estate and trust planning and administration, charitable planning, and tax-exempt organizations. Before entering law school, Justine worked as a case assistant at Miller Nash LLP and interned at Mentor Graphics and Portland Opera Association. Justine is an officer and former chair of the New Tax Lawyer Committee of the Oregon State Bar Tax Section. She is also a member of the Estate Planning and Administration Section. Justine is a graduate of Northwestern University (B.A., 2009) and Willamette University College of Law (J.D., 2013), where she was executive editor of the Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution.

MERCEDES W. RHODEN-FEELY

Professional Experience Mercedes joined Thede Culpepper in 2015. Her practice includes estate and trust planning, marital agreements, and estate and trust administration. Prior to joining Thede Culpepper, Mercedes was an extern for Crook County Counsel, where she worked on all aspects of municipal law. She subsequently worked under Professor Vollmar at Willamette University's legal clinic as an estate planner. In 2011, Mercedes joined Stahancyk, Kent & Hook, PC as a law clerk and became an associate after passing the Bar exam. Her four years at Stahancyk, Kent & Hook, PC included work on complex litigation cases involving marital agreements or gifted and inherited assets.
