Orhan Gunes - Founder, Managing Director
Orhan is a prominent commodity financier / banker with nearly two decades of experience in commodity trade finance.
He led one of the fastest growing and successful commodity trade finance portfolios where he started from scratch and built in Switzerland. He has been working with various top commodity traders of the world, mid and smaller size trading companies across the globe in energy, metals and minerals as well as agricultural goods.
He has a unique and unmatched experience across various commodities and regions and played a leading, instrumental role on building one of the best performing commodity finance portfolios in Switzerland - for the largest bank of one of the largest commodity exporting countries.
Orhan studied at Bosphorus University (BA) in Istanbul, ESCP Business School in Master's in European Management (London and Torino) and Executive MBA at Oxford University's Said Business School.
Orhan's latest role was Managing Director, Member of the Executive Committee and Head of Commodity Trade Finance at TradeX Bank AG.
He acted as member of the Credit Committee and Asset Liabilities Committee of the bank as well.
His experience spans through 4 banks in the Netherlands and Switzerland where he demonstrated his entrepreneurial skills to develop new business lines and portfolios.
He's a frequent speaker and panelist in various trade and commodity finance events at GTR, TXF and Euromoney industrial events and conferences.
