VENT CAP SYSTEMS

I was a BPI Certified Building Analyst in Austin, TX back in '09, and couldn't stand using tape to seal HVAC vents anymore. Not only was it slow and cumbersome; it was expensive, and often damaged people's property by pulling off paint or wallpaper. There I was, in the Austin heat - with the a/c off - sweating like a pig and dragging a ladder around, trying not to run into anything. Rushing, with my hands above my head, and slathering disposable plastic tape all over. Have you ever tried to seal air vents covered in condensation, that are dirty, or what about freshly painted supply vents? WAY too much trouble just to perform for a 30 second, static pressure fan test. To then have to go back and rip it all down was more than I could take. Not the "green-est" guy in any room, the shear waste of all that plastic bothered even me. That's three strikes! Wasting time, wasting money, and bad for the environment? Sealing HVAC ducts with tape was Un-American!... Everything was coming out,..
