I had never given much thought to sleep, until I had the baby who didn't sleep. Through his sleep challenges, I read and researched more and more, and became increasingly interested in this world of baby sleep. I wanted to know more, and in 2016, I jumped at the chance to take the first Infant Sleep Educator course, designed and created by Brandie Hadfield. In 2018, I greatly expanded on my knowledge of sleep through the Baby Led Sleep and Well Being certification with Lauren Heffernan at Isla-Grace Sleep. This is a very holistic approach, looking far beyond sleep to uncover the root of a family's issues, and prioritizes the relationship between parent and child. This extensive 18 week training included education on everything from tongue ties and sensory processing differences, to attachment and the important role of emotion.
