Jinnie focuses her practice in the intellectual property law, with particular concentration on trademark and copyright prosecution, registration and protection in the U.S. and overseas.
In addition to intellectual property matters, Jinnie has also assisted a broad range of clients in employment and family-based immigration matters.
Jinnie has a unique background. She came to the U.S. on F-1 student visa, worked as an H1B professional, and obtained her permanent resident status (her "green card") through the employment-based petitions under EB-2 category. Her own immigration journey affords her a deep understanding of the challenges immigrants face and appreciation of the impact that immigration matters have on individuals' lives.
Jinnie began her legal career as an intellectual property specialist with a prestigious Washington, D.C. IP law firm, where she gained extensive experience in the area of intellectual property law through assisting prosecutions of thousands of patent and trademark applications. She also obtained her "green card" through her firm' sponsorship. Three years after becoming a permanent resident, Jinnie embarked on a world tour to fulfil her childhood dream. She eventually landed in Australia and stayed on to earn her Juris Doctorate from The Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne, one of the most prestigious law schools in Australia. Jinnie completed her J.D. courses within two years that is normally required for three years.
Unpon returning to the U.S. after graduation, Jinnie worked for one year with a Washington, DC-based non-profit organization assisting clients seeking asylum in the U.S. Jinnie has volunteered at various non-profit organizations, and remains committed to pro bono and volunteering activities.
