Andrew Taylor is a solicitor regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and is an experienced General Counsel. He trained at Pinsent Masons and practised as an Associate at Eversheds Sutherland in the Construction and Engineering team between 2006 and 2012. In 2012 he moved in-house from Eversheds Sutherland to be sole counsel at Hesco, an international defence manufacturing and export business based in Leeds and the US. In 2019 Andrew decided to broaden his experience, taking up positions in retail, facilities management, mining and construction. Over his 16 years of qualification, with 10 years in business, Andrew has gained the following legal and commercial experience: Associate at Eversheds Sutherland - advising clients on construction and energy contracts and dispute resolution (adjudication, expert determination, mediation and litigation); General Counsel at Hesco - advising the business in all contractual matters, dispute resolution, employment matters, intellectual property, corporate and compliance matters - part of the Senior Leadership Team assisting the company transition from family to equity ownership and lead counsel on strategic international acquisitions; Head of Legal at Mamas and Papas, overseeing the legal function and data protection; Associate General Counsel at DMC Mining, advising primarily on contractual matters; Legal Counsel at SBFM and Heatherwick Studio, advising primarily on contractual matters. He currently holds the position of General Counsel at Portakabin, advises a number of SMEs and is a tutor of Commercial law and Intellectual Property at BPP law school.
