AJ worked as a Software Engineer at an award-winning Google Cloud Consultancy firm before joining About:Energy, obtaining several professional Cloud certifications. He has a strong background in Software development, having completed a Bachelor's in Computer Science. Alongside his work, he is currently pursuing a 2-year part-time MSc in Software and Systems Security at the University of Oxford.
At About:Energy, AJ is our Senior Software Engineer. He is currently developing our next-generation platform, The Voltt. His expertise in Cloud and Web Development will accelerate our goal to bring scalable and robust solutions to the industry.

Christian graduated with a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London where he conducted undergraduate research at the Electrochemical Science and Engineering group. He also led the battery team of Imperial Formula Racing and has worked as a Battery Performance Engineer at Rimac Technology.
Christian will help develop and implement leading battery electrochemical parametrisation and validation methodologies. His role also includes educating clients and potential customers regarding the importance of models in battery development.
Being aware that battery technology comes with negative environmental impacts, Christian is passionate about ensuring that we make the most of every cell that is produced. He believes that accurate models for use in design optimization and lifetime prediction are critical to reducing a battery's carbon footprint.

Daren held nearly 5 years of experience working with start-ups before completing his MBA at Imperial. He held various leadership positions in the sales and operations sectors. Daren's work had a global impact; he managed an overseas software development team in China, and deployed electric bikes and scooters to Singapore and Vietnam.
At About:Energy, Daren heads Business Development, working on finance and investment strategies. In future, he will work on translating customer feedback into tangible market and growth strategies.
Daren is excited by the prospect of transitioning our world towards batteries and electrification, and hopes that through this, future generations will experience a more sustainable quality of life.

- Senior Simulation Engineer
Darryl has over 4 years of experience in automotive simulation through a research collaboration with a leading UK bus manufacturer and Queen's University Belfast. His research initially focused on modelling autonomous emergency braking control strategies using 3D traffic simulations. Prior to this, he used simulation for range prediction/optimisation of battery electric, hybrid, and hydrogen vehicles - including the world's first double-decker hydrogen fuel cell bus.
As Senior Simulation Engineer at About:Energy, Darryl develops models and data parameterisation processes. His knowledge of automotive simulation ensures that our products fit seamlessly into the workflow of a major market segment.
Darryl is excited by the push to electrify the automotive sector, particularly by using simulation tools to maximise the efficacy of available components.

Edmund has 10+ years of experience in the industry-facing applications of physical modelling. Following his PhD in fundamental electrochemistry at the University of Oxford, he worked as a technical specialist supporting the uptake of modelling in UK academia and industry at COMSOL Ltd, and led measurement-oriented electrochemical simulation at the UK's National Physical Laboratory.
Yashraj has held engineering and technical leadership roles at Rolls-Royce and Warwick Manufacturing Group, specialising in battery research & consulting, and product development for aerospace and automotive applications. In recognition of his achievements, he was appointed as an Honorary Associate Professor at Warwick University. He also obtained a PhD from Warwick and a 1st Class B.E. (Honours) degree from BITS, Pilani, India.
Yashraj will lead our product portfolio, collaborating across various areas of the business and with the team. His role will expand to include delivery, customer success, and the development of future products and strategies in line with our long-term vision.
Hailing from the coastal plains of Eastern India, Yashraj firmly believes that progress in batteries is a crucial step towards achieving global net zero ambitions. He advocates for the democratisation of battery development, making it accessible to all, including new SMEs, large OEMs, and companies from the global south.

Erin recently graduated from Imperial College London with a MSc in Physics. During her studies, she completed projects on comparing methods of carbon capture and developing an algorithm to measure cloud parameters using stereo vision with the aim to improve climate models. Erin also gained professional experience through an internship in asset management, where she was responsible for conducting in-depth competitor monitoring.
At About:Energy, Erin is an integral part of the business development team, taking on a variety of roles to support the company's growth and success. She leads the company's marketing efforts, where she is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to effectively engage with the company's target audience. Erin is also involved in finance and investment, using her skills to help drive the company forward.
Erin is passionate about the environment and is committed to supporting the transition towards electrification. She believes that this transition is vital for preserving our planet. At the same time, Erin understands the importance of finding commercially viable solutions to drive the transition towards a more sustainable future.
Francis worked in the electronics industry in Hong Kong for 20 years with his specialism in Premium toys and garments. He has a wealth of experience in product design, development, prototyping and manufacturing procedures.
Francis now joins About:Energy as our Electronic Technician. In this position, and with his extensive experience in the electronics industry, he will apply his ideas into the design of our cell testing Rig as well as the Lab facilities setup. We look forward to seeing an improvement in the efficiency and safety on our tests as we ramp up our testing capacity.
Francis is interested in the improvement of battery technologies, he would like to see and support more and more new electric vehicles come to the market with shorter development time and lower development cost.

Gavin completed his PhD at Imperial College London, measuring the thermal properties of lithium-ion cells. Prior to this, he studied Mechanical Engineering at Queen's University Belfast. Whilst there, Gavin completed an 18-month placement at Aston Martin, which included working on the Valkyrie Hypercar.
At About:Energy, Gavin is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. His role focuses primarily on company vision, strategy, and recruitment, as well as providing thermal modelling and measurement expertise.
Gavin loves learning and trying new things, and has great passion for both social and environmental issues. These interests align perfectly with the company's values, so to lead such a company is extremely rewarding for him.
Hamza has built a strong foundation in Computer Science, earning a first-class degree from Queen Mary University, before completing a master's degree at the University of Warwick to further hone his knowledge. In addition to his academic achievements, he gained invaluable professional experience through a software engineering internship at Amazon, where he worked on products that have a global reach.
At About:Energy, Hamza works as a Software Engineer, primarily focusing on backend development and cloud computing. His background and experience will be valuable in helping to build large-scale, maintainable software solutions.
Hamza is excited about the prospect of a technologically advanced, yet sustainable future. He recognises that electrification and battery advancements are key to achieving this vision and is eager to utilise his skills to bring it to life.
Jamie spent 4 years working on Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains, where he gained experience within Formula 1 through various roles, including mechanical design, calibration of hybrid powertrains, data analysis, and remote Track support.
Jamie now joins About:Energy as our Chief Engineer. This position entails the management of the lab and design team in order to ensure that testing continues seamlessly. He works on adding new capability whilst improving testing efficiency and reliability, as well as delivering the upscaling of testing capacity.
The performance of electric vehicles is something that Jamie is particularly interested in, and he looks forward to one day testing an electric motorcycle on the track.
Kieran is Co-Founder and COO at About:Energy, and studied for a PhD at the University of Birmingham. His research involved developing parameterisation methods for creating electrochemical methods. During his PhD, he published 13 peer-reviewed papers on battery parameterisation and modelling, collaborating with several UK universities. Kieran also worked as an analyst at Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, covering next-generation battery supply chains and developing an understanding of new areas of opportunity for About:Energy.
Kieran leads sales and marketing, interfacing with customers and establishing commercial relationships with partners across automotive, manufacturing, and motorsports.
Lucy holds a Product Design Engineering degree from Brunel University, previously working in an architectural lighting consultancy, and as a Product Design Specialist at a MedTech start-up. This work focused on creating wearable medical devices for people with diabetes.
At About:Energy, Lucy is a Product Design Engineer. This involves the product design and adjustment of the battery test rigs that are used for experiments and gathering data, primarily building models on CAD platforms. Lucy also designs the front end of a customer-facing database website.
Lucy is excited by the positive changes that sustainable living solutions offer people. She believes that how we interact with these changes shall affect how much we use and, in turn, rely on them for the better.

Tim has over 20 years of experience in sales and leadership, including significant time in the telecommunications industry, where he has demonstrated a proven track record of introducing breakthrough technologies to European and North American markets. Before joining About:Energy, Tim successfully led high-performance sales teams at several early-stage companies, contributing to three successful trade acquisitions.
At About:Energy, Tim holds the position of Vice President of Sales. He will spearhead sales activities aimed at promoting awareness and adoption of About:Energy's advanced battery cell data and digital tools. These efforts are designed to foster innovation and enhance the efficiency of batteries across various industries and applications.
Tim is passionate about bringing disruptive and innovative propositions to the market. This aligns well with his social and environmental values. He thrives on being part of a team that is collectively motivated to achieve significant accomplishments.
