ALPHA OMEGA COHORT

The Alpha Omega Cohort is coordinated by researchers at Wageningen University, The Netherlands. The trial phase was sponsored by the Dutch Heart Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Unilever R&D (margarine development and distribution) and Wageningen University... The Alpha Omega Cohort comprises 4,837 patients that suffered a myocardial infarction who are followed up for cause-specific mortality. During the first 3 years patients took part in an RCT to test the effect of low doses of omega-3 fatty acids on major cardiovascular events.
