Many people know that STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, and they assume Bio-Med is a school totally focused on things like 1s and 0s and scientific notation. At Bio-Med, STEM is not a specific body of knowledge. Rather, it's a process that can be applied to any subject, any problem, anything the real world throws at you... A STEM approach involves a different kind of rigor. We help our students push themselves to achieve mastery in a subject. Their critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation and collaboration skills are sharpened and honed. When they leave Bio-Med they feel comfortable and prepared for whatever their next step is... We are not a Charter School or Magnet School for high-ability science students. In fact, we are open to students of all abilities and interests, and students of all socio-economic backgrounds.
