Ms. Pocalyko was appointed and confirmed to the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Accountancy in 2000 and served in the administrations of Governors Jim Gilmore and Mark Warner. She ran enforcement for the Board before becoming the first woman small firm accountant to chair the Board. She oversaw both the de-certification of Arthur Anderson LLP in the wake of the Enron scandal, and the establishment of the Board of Accountancy as an independent regulatory body in the Commonwealth.
