Arthur P. Jensen

Mr. Jensen focuses on advanced tax, financial, and estate planning. He has experience advising on reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and technical rulings, and assisting at the District Director and National levels. He has worked with both business and individual clients, with a focus on creative tax and financial planning and tax reduction tactics. Previously, he worked for a number of well-known CPA companies, including over 20 years with significant multinational accounting firms such as KPMG Peat Marwick and Deloitte & Touche. He spent most of his time as a partner in charge of tax services for the local office. He gained valuable experience when he was chosen for a one-year assignment at KPMG's Washington National Tax Office, where he dealt with complex and uncommon tax circumstances. He also acted as a contact between his company and the IRS, as well as the US Treasury Departments. Mr. Jensen is a University of Maryland, College Park graduate. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Maryland Association of CPAs, the International Association of Financial Planners, and the Wealth Counsel LLC Study Group. He has served as President of the Baltimore Association of Tax Counsel, Chairman of the Chesapeake Tax Conference, Co-Chairman of the Advanced Tax Institute, and Treasurer of the Baltimore City Rotary Club. In addition to his CPA license, he is a registered representative with a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member business and possesses health and life insurance licenses. He has spoken before numerous groups on tax and financial topics.

James D. Burgess

Mr. Burgess is a certified public accountant with 40 years of tax consulting expertise. Before joining Chesapeake Tax Advisors, LLC, he formerly worked as a senior tax manager for the worldwide accounting company Deloitte & Touche and the international consulting firm MAXIMUS. He also served for 7 years as President and Chief Financial Officer of a Mid-Atlantic systems integration firm. His services are available to individuals and businesses ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations, with a focus on entrepreneurs in the technology, retail, manufacturing, construction, and real estate industries. Mr. Burgess is a Catawba College graduate. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. He has also worked with numerous civic groups, including the Fairfax County Public Schools Education Foundation, the Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, and the Leonard Cheshire Center USA.
