's vision for Christendom Bible College grew out of nearly 40 years' experience in Christian higher education. During that time, the transformative mandate of the Great Commission has dwindled in the face of external attack and internal neglect, and few arenas have suffered as much as the arena of the Christian academy. The "salt" has grown tasteless, and the "light" has grown dim, leaving the culture around us foul and dark as a result. Clauson's vision is to restore the biblical foundations of higher education by untethering higher education from the shackles dragging it further into the depths of depravity and away from the Savior of men. Instead, Christendom Bible College will remain anchored in the millenia-old tradition of biblical Christianity as historically expressed in Western Civilization. This sure foundation, he believes, will serve student, family, church, and nation in making all of these the disciples of King Jesus Christ. President Clauson's career outside of Christendom Bible College is extensive. Pres. Clauson is also the current president of The Patrick Henry Institute, Inc., an educational organization with similar educational philosophy to CBC, but offering educational opportunities that are different from those of a Bible college. He has recently served as Vice President of Academics at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, as well as serving as Professor of Government and Law, and as Director of the Center for Faith, Freedom and the Constitution. Prior to those assignments, he was professor of Government and the founding head of the Government Division at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and President of Christ College, also in Lynchburg, Virginia. He served as Professor of Political Science at Grove City College in Pennsylvania before his time in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is an elder in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. President Clauson has authored numerous articles and a few book chapters. He was a candidate for public office three times. He is originally from West Virginia, where he earned his B.A. in International Affairs, his B.S. in Chemistry, and his M.S. in Political Science at Marshall University. Pres. Clauson earned his J.D. from West Virginia University. He and his wife, Marcia, have been married for 40 years. Marcia has been the Chief Homeschool Teacher of their 5 children. Dr. Clauson and his wife also have 12 grandchildren.
