Colors of Caucasus is a Georgian startup that focuses on coloring natural fabrics with natural minerals and plants... The textiles are hand dyed in Georgia at the Colors of Caucasus dyehouses. The colors are created from plants and minerals that are endemic to the Caucasus. Most of the plants have the healing properties and lend lustrous colors to natural fabrics... The Caucasus Mountain range stretches from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea and is at the intersection of Europe and Asia. Crossing the Caucasus Mountain range was an important section of the northern arm of the Silk Route from 2nd to the 18th century. The Caucasus is well known for its indigenous plants and minerals which have been used to color textiles since ancient times. The Colors of Caucasus revived and modernized the old traditional formulas.
