Dr. Christopher Chittum

Job Titles:
  • Chairman of the Division of Neurosurgery
Dr. Chittum is the current chairman of the Division of Neurosurgery at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. He is a board-certified neurosurgeon who received his training at the Medical University of South Carolina under the tutelage of Sunil Patel, MD, chairman of Neurosurgical Surgery. His neurosurgery training included seven full years of inclusive spinal treatments unlike "fellowship" trained spine surgeons who often only get one year of spine training.

Dr. David Mitchell

Dr. Mitchell is the co-author of a chapter in The Textbook of the Cervical Spine and is the published author of a peer-reviewed cervical spine paper. He has also received four patents on spine devices. He serves as one of the mentors for Wofford College students who are deciding on their career path in the medical field. The students are able to shadow various physicians both in the office and at the hospital to help them determine what field they want to pursue.

Dr. Mikhail Alexeev

Dr. Alexeev is a fellowship trained orthopedic sports medicine surgeon, applying both operative and non-operative techniques in the treatment of conditions of the shoulder, hip, and knee to reduce pain and restore function. Dr. Alexeev is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and completed his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He subsequently completed his orthopedic surgery training at Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, GA prior to pursuing his sports medicine fellowship at University Hospitals/Case Western where he received extensive training in complex knee, hip, and shoulder surgery. During his fellowship he was a team physician for the Cleveland Browns NFL football team and the Cleveland Monsters AHL hockey team, as well as several local high schools.

Dr. Travis Patterson

Dr. Travis Patterson is a fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon, applying advanced techniques in both operative and non-operative conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder to minimize pain while restoring function. Dr. Patterson completed his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina along with his orthopaedic surgery residency. He completed his hand & upper extremity fellowship at Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University. Dr. Patterson loves spending time with his wife and children. His hobbies include salt and freshwater fishing, woodworking, restoration/renovation and most competitive sports.
