David F. Corrigan has been successfully representing public entities in all aspects of municipal and labor and employment law for the past forty (40) years. He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a civil trial attorney. He is a member of the Multi Million-Dollar Advocates Forum, a national organization consisting of attorneys who have obtained verdicts in excess of one (1) million dollars in a particular case. Corrigan has handled numerous complex civil rights, municipal and labor/employment cases to successful conclusion in both state and federal courts. David has handled numerous matters before the United States District Court, several before the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals and has opposed and prepared petitions for Certiorari before the United States Supreme Court. He appears regularly before all New Jersey Courts and has successfully argued cases before both the New Jersey Appellate Division and the New Jersey Supreme Court, including several reported cases including: Winters v. North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, 212 N.J. 67 (2012); Todaro v. County of Union, 392 N.J. Super. 448 (App. Div. 2007); Monteiro v. City of Elizabeth, 436 F. 3d. 397 (3rd Cir. 2006) cert. den. U.S. (2006); and Fioriglio v. City of Atlantic City, 996 F. Supp. 2d. 379 (D.N.J. 1998) (successful representation of Mayor Whelan). He has handled well over one hundred grievance arbitrations, negotiated dozens of labor agreements, many interest arbitrations, and regularly appears before State and Federal administrative agencies (including PERC, the Office of Administrative Law, and the Civil Service Commission), on all types of labor relations matters. He has prosecuted (and defended) disciplinary charges for civil service employees in all types of cases and has lectured on prosecuting such cases in New Jersey. David is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Rutgers Law School. At Rutgers, Corrigan received the Best Brief Award during the Moot Court Competition, and received the highest exam grade for criminal procedure and evidence. He also served a judicial internship with the Hon. H. Curtis Meanor of the United States District Court. He then clerked for Presiding Appellate Division Judge Herman D. Michels from 1983-1988, Corrigan served as Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Public Employment Relations Commission. The remainder of his legal career has been in private practice. In addition, Corrigan has repeatedly been designated a "Super Lawyer" in the specialities of "labor and employment law" and "municipal law" by the "Super Lawyer" annual publication.
