Bunmi Ajala PhD, FHEA Chairman Dr Bunmi Ajala is an Economist and a Data Scientist. He is a lecturer...in Economics, a tutor of Data Science and a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (UK). He had his educational trainings from University of Jos (Nigeria), University of Manchester (UK), University of Leicester (UK) and Coventry University (UK). He is an advance user of Python, R and Stata. He leads our board with the experience of consulting on data-driven projects for organisations in Africa and Europe. Prior to his change to academia, he worked in the Nigerian financial industry for a decade (Inland Bank Nig Plc and Diamond Bank Plc). He has a wide range of experience, from Strategic Planning, Credit Analysis, Business Analysis to Product Developments. His research is in Applied Econometrics with focus on Education Economics, Health Economics, Innovation and Technology, African Trade and Big Data. He has been involved in Innovation Advisory Team on Digital Technology, development of some important data projects such as the AU-EU Research and SCITRADE (A project that uses Social Connectedness Index from Facebook to design Country and Product Opportunity Index for trade under African Continental Free Trade), designing Cultural Vibrancy Index for 12 cities in Africa, using Machine Learning to predict HIV from Tuberculosis, anomaly detection in banking transactions, amongst others.
