HIGH PLAINS ALFALFA
Updated 202 days ago
The report went on to say that the genetically modified alfalfa was developed by Mansanto to resist the herbicide Roundup®. This will allow farmers to spray chemicals to kill weeds without hurting the alfalfa. According to the Non GMO Project's website, more than 80% of all genetically modified crops are engineered for herbicide tolerance. As a result, the use of these toxic herbicides has increased fifteen fold. Alfalfa is the fourth largest crop in the U.S. mainland. Capitol Press reports that, according to the USDA, "Roughly one-third of newly seeded acreage planted… was of a biotech variety resistant to glyphosate herbicides." High Plains Alfalfa is committed to support our Non-GMO farmers. We only use Non-GMO and chemical free alfalfa for our products.
