Ailsa Williamson

Ailsa graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2016 and has worked in small animal practice since. Although originally from East Yorkshire, Manchester has become home now for Ailsa and her husband. She enjoys all aspects of Veterinary practice but has a particular interest in medicine. In her spare time Ailsa likes to go walking with her puppy Bee. She also loves kayaking and plays canoe polo.

Alex Watts RVN

Alex began nursing in 2004 on the Isle of Wight where she is originally from, passing her VN qualifications in 2009. She started as a locum nurse in 2010 and worked in various 1 st opinion and out-of-hours practices on the south coast before moving to South Africa to follow her interest in wildlife conservation and big game nursing, and afterwards to the Middle East as an RVN. She moved back to the UK and 'up north' in 2017 whilst locumming as an RVN and studying in Manchester, first coming to us as a locum in 2020. She joined us a permanent member of staff in November 2022. Alex has a keen interest in wildlife conservation and genetics and continues to study part-time in this field. She is interested in photography and hiking in the little spare time she has left!

Angela Howard

Angela first joined the practice in September 2008 after many years of working with children and the elderly. Angela has always had a passion for animals and some of her many pets include ferrets, dogs, budgies, gerbils, horses and a parrot. She currently works mainly at our Woodley branch surgery.

Carla Pengelley Animal

I am a qualified Animal care assistant and I joined Hunts veterinary clinic in September 2022. I have always had a passion for animals and caring for their different needs. I particularly enjoy nursing and aiding in the recovery of sick animals. In my spare time I enjoy going on long walks with my family and my dog. I especially love being by the sea.

Carol Jenkinson

Carol graduated from London Royal Vet College a long time ago- in 1990. Her initial career was spent working in a charity environment for over 25 years, following her interest in feline medicine and all aspects of surgery. She completed her Advanced Veterinary Practitioner Certificate in 2015. Mum to Luke and Sarah, who are now fully-fledged adults, her home is shared with husband Andrew, a photographer, and cats Maverick and Bingo, and 'grandbunnies' Jummy and Flopsy. Carol is keen on textile handicrafts and loves to knit, quilt and patchwork when she is relaxing.

Emily Banister

I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2023. I am originally from the Peak District, so have decided to move a bit closer to home for my first job. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, but have a particular interest in internal medicine and dermatology. I live in Macclesfield with my partner, and in my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, horse riding, and borrowing all my family and friends' dogs to take on walks with me!

Emma Drury

Emma is originally from Edinburgh but graduated from Glasgow University in 2022. She then made the move down south to join us at Hunt's. Emma enjoys all aspects of general practice but also has a special interest in dermatology. In her spare time Emma enjoys indoor bouldering.

Emma Tebay BVSc

Emma graduated from The University of Liverpool in July 2011 and spent her first year working in a small animal practice just outside Sheffield. Originally from Wilmslow, Emma was keen to return to the Stockport area, taking up a position with us in August 2012. She enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Practice but has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery and feline medicine. In her spare time she likes to keep fit by attending a fitness bootcamp and walking her Springer Spaniel ‘Freddie'.

I have always had a passion for animals. Having grown up rescuing and re-homing many species of animals from domestics to exotics. In my spare time I like hiking, camping, live music and cooking.

Gabi Monaghan

Gabi is a qualified dog groomer and first-year vet nurse student, who initially joined our clinic 2 years ago as a VCA. She began her course at the start of 2022 and is enjoying developing new skills and knowledge. Her favourite part of the day is seeing how excited and happy the pets are to see their owners when they come to collect them post-surgery. In her spare time, she does dog grooming and enjoys days out to the Lake District.

Hayley Steadman RVN

Hayley began her career in 2006 at a busy training practice, specialising in hospitalised patients, orthopaedic surgery and general practice. Hayley qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2009 and has enjoyed nursing a variety of patients ever since. Hayley joined Hunts at the end of 2019.

Helen Barrett

Helen graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2012 and since then has worked in small animal practice in West Yorkshire and East Lothian in Scotland. With the draw of family nearby and the hope of slightly less rain than Scotland Helen joined us in October 2021. Her particular interests are in internal medicine and ultrasonography. At home she likes to relax through gardening, spending time with her two cats Raggles and Loris and has recently taken an interest in woodworking.

Helen Souter

After working for the PDSA for 18 years Helen decided she wanted to settle down a bit more with her husband Martyn. So, they moved from the city in 2016 and into the surrounding hills to enjoy the thrills of their absolute passion of mountain biking. Helen does this most weekends but when she isn't able to, she tends to her rather large freshwater aquarium instead! Helen is conscientious and hardworking, and although she started at Hunt's as a Veterinary Nurse, she is now able to support the business differently as practice manager. Because the staff and the whole team are focused on animal welfare and an extremely high standard of care, she finds it easy to look after them in turn and really enjoys what each individual gives to the Practice.

Katy Isherwood Auxiliary

Katie has been working as a Auxiliary Nurse for 9 years working at various different practices. She joined hunts in April 2021. She really enjoys caring for the animals and has particular interest in nursing any inpatients and undertaking Lab work. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and visiting family friends across the country. She enjoys going on country walks and going on holiday.

HI I'm Kylie Jones, I started work as a Veterinary Receptionist in 2005 and gradually whilst having two small children I worked towards being a Veterinary Nurse, qualifying in 2010 and achieved the BSAVA award for the highest marks in the country! From there I have been a clinical coach for two veterinary nurse students and worked in various first opinion practices, also working night shifts in a Out of hours Emergency clinic.

Lindsey joined the practice in June 2012 as receptionist at the newly opened Cheadle Hulme branch. She has over 25 years of experience in the Veterinary industry.

Megan Skelhorn

Originally from Bollington, Megan graduated from Nottingham Vet School in 2018 to work in small animal practice. She has an interest in cardiology and ultrasonography and really loves seeing animals in for their routine procedures where they can get lots of treats and fuss. She lives at home with her daughter and husband, their rescue cat, Donatello and miniature American shepherd, Bilbo. She enjoys spending time with family, running with her dog or the buggy, reformer Pilates and yoga.

Zara Wood BVSc

Zara graduated from Bristol University in 2019. She grew up in Cheadle Hulme and has previously worked in small animal practice in Yorkshire and Cheshire. She also has a science degree from the Royal Veterinary College. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, particularly internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and ultrasonography. In her spare time she enjoys running (keeping up with her family's exuberant husky, Skye), horse riding, travelling and exploring the Peak and Lake District with her partner and their 2 dogs- tennis ball obsessed Goldendoodle, Ted and much calmer, cuddlier Australian Labradoodle, Miley. She is also slave to a cheeky black and white cat, Raffy.
