IMPRINT.BAND

Imprint brings together the worlds of contemporary classical music, folk, & jazz, with elegant improvisation and ethereal electronics. Cellist Cecilia Bignall and percussionist Ralph Wyld play a wide variety of works, from arrangements of Bach, to Jazz standards and Folk melodies. Both composers themselves, they also write and perform original music that reexamines traditional genre boundaries, and explores the sounds and textures possible with their instruments.With influences from Kaija Saariaho to John Hollenbeck, they have performed in venues and festivals across the UK and Europe. Last year they were presented by NonClassical at the Southbank's RiverStage Festival. They were also central to a recent collaboration celebrating 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' for the Daunt Books Festival, with a suite of new compositions.
