After the partition of India, refugees settled in Ulhasnagar then known as Kalyan Camp. Apart from Sindhi, refugees also had some Marathi & Goan people are known for their love for Art, Theatre & Music. Keeping away the pains & sufferings as refugees they decided to promote Art & Culture. Goan people who were Daivdnya Brahmins came together to establish an institution which was named after their Deity " Kalika Mata". Shri Kalika Kala Mandal was thus established on Vijayadashami of 1949. Lead was taken by Late Bhikaji Vasedeo Chodankar, Ghanashyam Wamanrao Banodkar, Vishnu Bhikaji Chodankar, Jagannath Bhikaji chodankar, Sadashiv Aant Lotlikar, Chandrakant Harischandra Chodankar, Baburao, Vinayak & Ramakant Pednekar. The Mandal was registered with Charity Commissioner Thane in Feb 1959... We are active in the field of Music, Arts, Literature . We provide stage to aspiring Artists in these fields.
