KUSHIMA

Born in 1989 and currently based in Tokyo, Keita Kushima began his career as a freelance designer while studying at art college, when he was commissioned by business enterprises including a listed company. As a creative partner, he is involved in product design, art direction, and brand building for major companies as well as start-ups. From 2022 he began his activities as a contemporary artist. With a background of deep knowledge in all aspects of design, including hardware, digital, and branding, he creates paintings with a different perspective to the classical approach. Not confined to superficial painting, he explores new values based on the premise of pioneering mediums and processing techniques. 1989年生まれ。東京を拠点に活動。美術大学在学中に、上場企業をはじめとした事業者からの依頼を機にフリーランスのデザイナーとしてキャリアを開始。クリエイティブパートナーとして大手企業からスタートアップ企業のプロダクトデザイン、アートディレクション、ブランド構築に携わる。2022年よりコンテンポラリーアーティストとして活動を開始。ハードウェアやデジタル、ブランディングなどデザイン全般の深い知見を背景とし、古典的なアプローチとは別の視点で絵画を制作。表層的なペインティングに囚われず、メディウムや加工技法を開拓することを前提として新規価値を探求する。
