Julien-Loïc Garin - Founder

Julien Loic Garin studied Khagnes in Externat Sainte Marie Lyon and obtained a BA degree in Paris Sorbonne University (Paris IV) in French Literature, Arts and Culture. He was a graduate of Master of Arts in the business school, IESA Institut d'Etudes Superieures des Arts in Paris specialising in Arts and Culture business. His research interests encompass Cultural projects management, International management in Arts and Culture, Marketing and Fund-raising. He started his career at the Foundation Pierre Berge -Yves Saint Laurent in 2006 where he oversaw different exhibitions and events. In 2009 he joined the Jean Cocteau Committee as the General Secretary involving in multifarious events to raise awareness of the works of late French poet, writer and film director Jean Cocteau, including a large Tribute to the artist at the Salon du Livre Francophone in Vienna. In 2011, he then joined Le French May Arts festival in Hong Kong, as the CEO and had been heading it with the aim of bridging French and Hong Kong cultures through over 120 events organised every year. In 2017, he launched Lumieres Hong Kong, the city's first ever light festival, dedicated to promote Hong Kong's art, culture and heritage to the general public, in partnership with the Hong Kong SAR's government and the Fete des Lumieres in Lyon (France). In 2020, Julien-Loïc Garin founded Le Cercle, a Consulting and project lead company in the cultural field, dedicated to support institutions, brands and corporate in the vision and implementation of cultural strategy and arts-related events in between Europe and Asia. Julien-Loïc Garin is a member of the Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association since 2013. He is an awardee of the Tatler Asia "Generation T" 2018, and of the 2018 Prestige Magazine "40 under 40".
