The principal investigator Dr. Liuhua Shi's research focuses on the effects of ambient air pollution, extreme weather, green space, and environmental noise on the development and progression of chronic diseases among the older adults, such as Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, and respiratory diseases. Our goal is to leverage massive nationwide datasets, including satellite-retrieved high-resolution environmental exposure data and longitudinal health records, to better understand the influence of environmental risk factors on older adults' health.
