Marker-gene and shotgun metagenomic sequencing have become the tools of choice for measuring microbiomes. But these tools have a variety of technical limitations, which leave the accuracy and biological meaningfulness of their measurements unclear. This site aims to serve as a crowd-sourced repository of knowledge of these limitations and the latest in experimental and data-analysis techniques designed to overcome them.
