Elsa Seara has a degree in Law from the University of Lisbon Law School and has been a practicing attorney for more than 20 years. Elsa began her career as an in-house corporate lawyer of a big construction company, active on the Portuguese public market. Since 2005, she worked at J.A.P.R Law Firm (now named Pinto Ribeiro Advogados), where she acted as coordinator of the litigation department and closely collaborated with the Corporate, M&A and Venture Capital department. She specializes in litigation and arbitration, with extensive experience in corporate and commercial litigation, with emphasis on insolvency and banking disputes, involving national and international interests. José Sá Reis

José Sá Reis has been an academic for 25 years. He teaches at the University of Porto Law School, where he is the Director of the Graduate Law Course. He has published several articles and book chapters on Competition and Antitrust, Company law, Commercial law, and Contracts. In that capacity he has authored many legal opinions on the Portuguese courts. Although he was a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 1995, he did not practice for several years. Miguel Sousa Ferro is an academic and a lawyer with over 15 years' experience in EU, Competition and Regulatory law. He is a leading expert in Portugal on collective redress and Antitrust law, with special focus on private enforcement and consumer protection. As an academic, Miguel is a Professor at the University of Lisbon Law School, where he has lectured since 2008. He has also lectured at the Universities of Toulouse, Bialystok and East Timor, at the College of Europe, and at Universidade Europeia (Portugal). He is Co-Director of the Portuguese Competition & Regulation Journal, and has published 6 monographs and over 100 papers in national and international journals. His most recent books are "The EU Antitrust Damages Directive: Transposition in the Member States" (Oxford University Press) and "Market Definition in EU Competition Law" (Edward Elgar).
