Christos Consoulas

Christos Consoulas (PhD) is an Associated Professor at the Laboratory of Experimental Physiology, Medical School, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and Adjunct Professor at the Arizona Research Laboratories Department of Neuroscience (ARLDN), University of Arizona, USA. He received a Civil Engineering BSc (1993) from the Polytechnical School of Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), a BSc in Biology (1997) from the Department of Biology, AUTH and his PhD from the Biology Department of AUTH (Laboratory of Animal Physiology and Department of Zoology, George August University of Göttingen, Germany). He was awarded the Fogarty Fellowship from the National Institute of Health (NIH, USA) in 1992. His research is focused on post-embryonic development and aging of sensory-motor neural circuits in the genetic-model system of Drosophila. He has authored multiple papers in peer-reviewed international journals.

Christos Nikitas

Christos Nikitas is a registered Physiotherapist, holds a postgraduate degree from the Medical School of the University of Athens and he is a PhD candidate. His clinical and research interest centers around the rehabilitation of vestibular disorders in mixed reality (augmented and virtual) as well as the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders and somatosensory tinnitus to professionals of performing arts. He has participated in two major projects, funded by the E.U. (EMBalance and HOLOBalance). He has held lectures in conferences and undergraduate and postgraduate courses and has participated in scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals.

Dimitrios Kikidis

Dimitris Kikidis (ΜSc, PhD) is an ENT surgeon, academic associate and Coordinator of the Neurotological Laboratory at A΄ Otorhinolaryngology Department of Hippokrateion Hospital. He received his Medical Degree in 2002 from the National &Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He received an MSc in Occupational Health in 2009 and his Phd in Neurotology in 2016. He has authored multiple papers in peer-reviewed international journals, 8 full articles and cited abstracts in conference proceedings. He is also Co-Principal Investigator in four Horizon 2020 (SMART BEAR, HOLOBALANCE, Regain, Uniti and Evotion) and 2 FP7 projects (SIFEM and EMBalance) and in the Management Committee of a Cost Action (TINNET). He is also author of European Guidelines for Tinnitus.

Dimitris Dimitriades

Dimitris Dimitriades was born in Athens in 1972. As Sound Engineer he has a professional background in the music industry since 1991, with presence in concerts, conducted in Greece and abroad, as well as in music studios. He has worked with a great number of artists including but not limited to Nena Venetsanou, Crotala, Iasis, Takis Paterelis, Vassilis Rakopoulos, Yiotis Samaras, Jazz Upstairs Orchestra, Liti Vogiatzoglou, Chroni Aidonidi, Ara Dinkjan, Mencea, The Burget Project, World Dog, Foivos Delivorias, Matoula Zamani, Pavlos Pavlides, Benny Green, David Friedman, Michel Portal, Rex Richardson, Sheila Jordan, Cameron Brown, Bobby Few, Ron Savvage and Eos (in which he is a member since 2000). His studio career began in 1991 at Echourgio (1991-1997) and since then he worked at Crystal (1997-1999) Wave (1999-2008) and Zero Gravity (2009-today). Since 1998 he is a Sound Engineering professor at I.V.T. AKMI, from which he graduated with honours a year earlier. Dimitris is also a member of the Audiology Clinic, department of Performing Arts Medicine Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2016, as an external associate. In 2018 he received his Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Music Technology and Production from the University of East London.

Dr. Eleftheria Iliadou

Evangelia Kontogianni

Evangelia Kontogianni, is a registered Psychologist. She completed her bachelor studies in the Department of Psychology at Panteion University and her MSc studies "Mental Health Promotion and Prevention of Psychiatric Disorders" in the Medical School of the University of Athens (UoA). She is trained in Cognitive - Behavioral Therapy. Among other research projects, she has participated in two European research projects entitled "SENSE-Cog" (1 st Department of Psychiatry, UoA, Eginition Hospital), and "UNITI" (1 st ENT, UoA, Ippokrateion Hospital). Her clinical interests are in the fields of Audiology, with special interest in the field of tinnitus and in the mental health of performing artist, as well as in the field of cognition and dementia and the coexistence of cognitive and sensory impairments. She actively participates in numerous lectures in conferences and seminars, in Greece and abroad, and she has also participated in scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals.

Evgenia Vassou

Evgenia Vassou received her degree in Speech and Language Therapy from Patras Technological Educational Institute in 2010. She has worked as Audiologist in the NHS-Brighton and Sussex University Hospital and in 2020 she obtained her MSc on Audiology and Neurotology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA, Greece). After receiving her MSc, she became a member of the research team in the Otoneurologic Laboratory of the 1st University Department of Otorhinolaryngology (NKUA). She is participating in one Horizon 2020 research program: UNITI (Unification of Treatments and Interventions for Tinnitus Patients) and she is the leading researcher in one IDA Institute research project (Randomised control trial for the evaluation of the efficacy of IDA "Living Well" online counseling tool in first time adult users with hearing loss).

Ilias Papathanasiou

He has 25 years of experience in the area of rehabilitation voice, neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders. He was awarded hi PhD from the Institute of Neurology at the University of London and has done postdoctoral studies at the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at University of Queensland, Australia. Before going to Patras in 2002, he was head of the Speech and language Therapy Department of the Stroke Unit at the Homerton Hospital in London, and the Clinical Research Fellow at the Institute of Neurology, University of London, where he was part of the Neurolarygology Clinic. He has published books (Acquired Neurogenic Communication Diosrders, 2000; The Sciences of Aphasia, 2002; Aphasia and Related Neurogenic Communication Disorders, 2012, 2016), has published dozens of scientific articles and studies and has over a hundred international participations with presentations in an international session. He has been the main speaker in many international meetings and has organized the 11th International Aphasia Rehabilitation Conference in Milos in 2004 and the 48th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Aphasia in 2010 in Athens. Dr. Papathanassiou was the chair of the organizing committee of the 28th International Congress of the International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics, held in Athens in 2010. He is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journals Aphasiology, Communication Disorders Quarterly, Clinical Archives of Communication Disorders, ASHA perspectives SIG17, and has been responsible for the book reviews of the International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders and Folia Phoniatrica et logopedica. Dr. Papathanasiou has received awards in both Great Britain and America. In 2008, the Royal College of Speech Therapists in Great Britain awarded him the honorary title of Fellow (the Highest Honorary Distinction for a Therapist in Great Britain), for his international contribution and recognition in the profession of Speech Therapy. In 2014, the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) was awarded the honorary title of Fellow (the Highest Award for Speech and Language Therapist in the USA) for its contribution to research, teaching and international organizations of the profession. Dr. Papathanasiou is the only active speech and language therapist worldwide who has been awarded these two distinctions. He has many years of experience in hospitals in Great Britain and USA and is a member of many professional and research organizations. His research interests include voice disorders in the performing arts, evaluation and treatment of voice disorders, neurogenic voice, speech, language and swallowing disorders, neurosciences in speech and language rehabilitation, diagnosis and rehabilitation of voice disorders, communication and swallowing disorders after head and neck surgery and the organization and development of speech and language therapy services in the hospital.

Konstantinos Pastiadis

Dr. Konstantinos Pastiadis graduated from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He also concluded his post-graduate studies and received his Ph.D. on Voice/Speech Signal Processing from the same department, Laboratory of Electroacoustics, Music Technology and Television Systems. Currently, he is Associate Professor on Musical Acoustics, Psychoacoustics and Signal Processing at the Department of Musical Studies, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and member of the Cognitive and Computational Musicology Group of AUTH. He is also a visiting Professor at the School of Medicine, University of Athens. He received his degree on music from Yamaha Music Foundation and he is a piano and keyboards performer. He has published several research articles in the fields of Psychoacoustics, Perception & Musical Acoustics, Perception & Signal Processing in Performing Arts, Voice/Singing Acoustics/Pathology. He participated in numerous funded research projects in the fields of Technology in Hearing Restoration, Music Perception, Acoustics of Voice, etc. His research and teaching interests on Psychoacoustics and Signal Processing include: psychophysical methods and applications in music perception, computational models in auditory physiology, perception and production of musical signals, tests/systems for the acquisition, processing and analysis of objective and behavioral data, signal processing/analysis with applications in music perception, room acoustics in music performance, and, of course, acoustics of musical instruments and singing/voice.

Michalis Tsoukatos

Michalis Tsoukatos is a registered Physiotherapist, holds a postgraduate degree in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and rehabilitation of ICU patients from the Medical School of the University of Athens. He has participated in the research project Horizon 2020: HOLOBALANCE (HOLOgrams for personalized virtual guidance and motivation in an aging population with balance disorders). Both his clinical and research interests focus on the rehabilitation of vestibular and musculoskeletal disorders. He has 4 years' experience, as a member of an interdisciplinary team, in the rehabilitation of victims of torture with patients suffering from chronic pain and mental health disorders.

Nikolaos Markatos

Mr. Markatos is an Academic Fellow - Researcher at the University of Athens. He received his degree in Speech and Language Therapy from Patras Technological Educational Institute. After completing his studies in the Department of Speech and Language Therapy, he continued his studies at the University of Manchester (UoM) in England where he received a BSc degree with Honours in Audiology. Returning to Greece, he completed his military duties and joined Professor's Biba research team (Ά ORL Clinic, Hippocration General Hospital of Athens) and at the same time he is PhD Candidate at the University of Athens, Greece under Prof. Biba supervision. His clinical interest is in the field of Audiology with special interest in central auditory processing disorders. He has participated as a researcher in 6 European research programs (FP7 and Horizon 2020) related to mathematical cochlear modeling (SIFEM), the development of a computer system for the diagnosis and treatment of balance disorders (EMBalance), regeneration of hair cells (REGAIN), SMART BEAR (Smart Big Data Platform to Offer Evidence-based Personalised Support for Healthy and Independent Living at Home) and Big data analytics from the use of 'smart' hearing aids to form health care policies (EVOTION). He is currently involved in a new European program SMART-BEAR with purpose to offer Evidence-based Personalised Support for Healthy and Independent Living at home.

Panos Dimas

Panos Dimas is a lyrical baritone. He has been a permanent member of the Hellenic Broadcasting Choir from 2001-2013, and has been a regular member of the Greek National Opera Choir for many years. He has also been teaching singing since 2003, giving to date 23 diplomas of singing to young lyricists who are members of GNO as well as major overseas Opera stages. During his teaching career he was trusted by many notable artists of the Musical Theater, recognized actors and singers of the Greek music scene. He works as a Professor at the National Conservatory and is the founder and coordinator of the Postgraduate Seminar for Song Teachers at the National Conservatory. He is an associate professor at London College of Music and has been working in the Voice Clinic at the A' ENT clinic of Athens University since 2009. His other studies include: UPsychologist (Degree in Psychology, Panteion University, Athens), Bachelor of Social Anthropology (Bachelor of Social Anthropology). MSc in Management of Cultural Units.
