ANDRÉE GAGNON

Andrée is a senior legal executive with over 25 years of experience working in government, private practice and as in-house counsel. Andrée's focus has been guiding organizations through the complex legal and business issues facing global technology companies. Andrée's expertise includes the development and protection of intellectual property, complex commercial and technology transactions, business model and product development, information security and compliance, privacy, and renewable energy development - issues critical to companies looking to reinvent their businesses in a disruptive world. Her twenty-year tenure at Microsoft has provided her the opportunity to take on the role of General Counsel for Microsoft's Canadian subsidiary headquartered in Toronto, and to advise senior leadership teams on launching a global enterprise cloud services business. Over the course of her career, Andrée has worked in state government for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and was in private practice at Perkins Coie. Andrée received her B.A. from New York University and her J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School. Andrée's current role at Microsoft is General Manager and Associate General Counsel for Microsoft's global datacenter and enterprise hardware business, which operates in over 60 regions and is growing. Andrée advises on a broad set of areas including sustainability and renewable energy development, land acquisition and development, commercial leasing, global supply chain governance and development of innovative technologies that will transform how cloud services are delivered to customers. While in Canada, Andrée led the subsidiary's corporate, external and legal affairs department. She oversaw government affairs, philanthropies, and legal services for Microsoft Canada and was an advisor to the head of Microsoft's Product Development Center in Vancouver. As a member of Microsoft Canada's executive team, she provided strategic guidance on government engagement and regulations, global transactions, intellectual property, data privacy and security, and compliance. She also provided substantial contribution to the development of AI ethical standards in Canada. Andrée represented Microsoft Canada as a founding member of the Digital Technology Supercluster; one of five public/private partnerships funded by the Canadian Federal Government through its Innovation Supercluster Initiative. Andrée helped develop the governance structure for the Digital Technology Supercluster and joined the Board of Directors and Governance Committee for its inaugural year. In 2022, Andrée was invited to join OnBoarding Women, a program created by business leaders in the Seattle region focused on increasing the percentage of women on public company boards in Washington.

LAURA M. BURSON
